This article is extremely insightful! I hope more (African) policymakers understand that: 1. AI governance is a full package and drafting an AI Policy or Strategy is part of this package but not the package itself. 2. Active review and assessment is necessary for tangible results 3. “Responsible AI is where AI ethics meets AI governance” 4. Regulations (laws) aren’t all you need…unless it’s about regulating the right things e.g. making sure no one is exploiting your people in the AI value chain. 5. There’s no need to organize hundreds of summits/conferences on AI if it’s not to listen to the actual actors in that ecosystem and ACT accordingly.
