The design, featuring four interlocking panels powered by 54 motors on steel tracks, was groundbreaking for its time. But why don’t we see more of these innovative structures? The answer lies in their high costs, complex construction, and significant maintenance demands. Despite these challenges, the benefits—adapting to weather, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing the fan experience—make them valuable.
