Exciting news! The Bass + MyFi Studio partner to create interactive art and music-making experiences by presenting a series of Electronic Music Labs this summer.
Inspired by artist Nam June Paik’s (b. 1932, Seoul, d. 2006, Miami Beach) early music roots and artwork titled Internet Dweller (1994, on loan from Art Bridges), MyFi Studio created in real time (2024), a newly commissioned collection of electronic music instruments available online and in person at the Internet Dweller Electronic Music Labs at The Bass.
Made possible with generous support by Art Bridges (Art Bridges Foundation), guests will learn how to play MyFi Studio instruments, create new media, and have the chance to own an electronic instrument.
RSVP to join our 6 events at The Bass + online this summer.

In real time as an electronic instrument created by Maifi Studio. I'm Josh Eisenberg, I'm Amy Rubenstein, and we are my FI studio. The Bass Museum of Art commissioned us to create an instrument inspired by Namjoon Pikes Internet dweller. We are inspired by Namjoon Pike's performances, video art, humor and were always imagining what Namjoon Pike spent his time doing in Miami. Building electronic music instruments is one part of our art practice at Mifi Studio. We program our instruments in P5JS. Our first instrument was wind tunnels. Next was circles are bad. Third was number dice. We also perform as a duo. We build instruments and tools to use for our performances. Our instrument building an improvisational performance practice shape The design of our new instrument in real time samples visuals from our previous instruments as well as footage from Miami and around the world. We built each instrument with custom analog glitch video art that changes in real time. Can you see the connective tissue? Really. And then? Our new instrument plays audio and video in real time. In Real Time is a collection of 404 unique samplers that we design for you to play on your laptop, at home, with friends, or during a live performance. Have fun, Get samples from the Internet, drag and drop audio files to sample them. Do, as Namjoon Pike says, make technology ridiculous. Great. Maybe taking that? I didn't take.
Nice to see music and art come together in a new way. The idea of creating new media in real time is a great way to engage with art. The real-time play option is a good touch.
