NEW Interview with Kenyan artist, technologist and founder of Morianah - Maurine Chuani: "I was inspired by the systemic imbalance that existed and still does, in the industry. By immersing myself fully into the space, it became clear that there is a problem with how art is consumed and valued, in Africa. It became even clearer, the role of artists in society, and the need for dignity in how their work is handled and perceived. Technology in this regard is like a catalyst that changes the old ways and creates new ways of interacting with art, reducing the obscurity faced by most artists." https://lnkd.in/e3rYxaG9

In focus of this business model research are not individual artists, but organizations and institutions working with digital art and culture, such as digital art festivals, exhibition spaces (museums / galleries) specializing in digital art, artists or curators collectives working with digital art, as opposed to organisations displaying forms of art in digital settings (e.g. museums with dedicated exhibition spaces for contemporary digital art vs. those offering immersive shows of existing paintings). The report is available online, on the Digital Inter/Section website: https://lnkd.in/ef9fRRcq --- DI/S aims at diversifying the sources of income and business models for digital arts & culture organizations, while promoting sustainable, ethical and inclusive economic development. At my last NetworkX panel I spotted interesting differences in US and German approaches to build campus networks. My takeaway is that the German private spectrum approach is enabling a lot more implementation options compared to the US CBRS approach. So lets hope we will see more spectrum flexibility around the globe in the future to enable enterprises to take full advantage of 5G and future 6G technologies.
It was a pleasure to speak on 5G and private networks in venues with Art Maria Thomas Magedanz and Pablo Tomasi at #networkxamericas. Pablo moderated, Art is AT&T, and Thomas is a German professor. Honestly, such fun being with smart people discussing technology!
