Great overview of the challenges that utilities face in actually determining what services are made of lead (or galvanized steel), so they can be replaced. Many do not have accurate records of service material type from years ago. Our field work so far has shown that a lot of lead service locations can pretty random due to the work that has been done over the years either by the utility or the homeowner. Timothy Preager gives a great overview of our technology and how it works. We're getting a lot of questions about finding galvanized steel services as well, and yes, the same approach works very well to find them.
Fantastic overview of the lead pipe location challenge in Ohio (and elsewhere!) and the Cleveland Water Alliance program which has empowered innovators like Solinas Technologies to solve it - https://lnkd.in/giwfuAgn

Recalibrating Power in Energy Infrastructure Decision-Making FERC approved new policy for Hydro preliminary permits to be located on Tribal lands. FERC’s new policy makes hydropower preliminary permits for projects on Tribal lands a “no go” if the Tribe on whose land the project is proposed opposes the permit. FERC’s hydro preliminary permitting policy extends to Tribal trust resources. FERC also denied four hydro preliminary permits at the February Commission meeting that the Navajo Nation opposed. At the meeting FERC Chairman Willie L. Phillips reinforced the unique relationship between Indian Tribes and the United States as recognized in the new policy. The Chairman pointed out that Tribes be treated with the same deference given to Federal land-managing agencies and other affected Federal agencies that oppose proposals. Chairman Phillips encouraged energy project sponsors to work closely with Tribes to shape successful proposals for hydroelectric projects. Tribal nations not only have a unique relationship with the United States, they have occupied the Americas the longest and have an intimate relationship with the land. They bring deep knowledge, a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to shape the energy grid for future generations, curb global warming and combat climate change. See highlights from the FERC meeting on the new hydro policy and other Commission matters. https://lnkd.in/ezWjx4NU
