Like ever-evolving works of art, we are continuously molded by experiences, constantly adapting and expanding from the world around us. We usually think of personal interactions however, other interactions shape us as well. As we create technology and mold it through our use, it too sculpts us. Will holographic tech revolutionise remote working as we know it? Currently it's mostly those desk-based folk that can work remotely. Those in manufacturing, industry and hands-on jobs simply can't. But what if you could hologriphy (I made that word up) the need to have something in front of your own eyes? You can now demo a product right in front of the customer's eyes, in the same room as them... without having to actually 'be' in the same room as them. I can think of a few use cases where this would be brilliantly effective and a huge time saver for everyone, so it's no wonder that this sort of tech is starting to take off... 🚀 I'm absolutely thrilled to finally have the opportunity to experience "Ground Level" at NGV International! 🎨 As an artist, I've always been fascinated by the intersection of art and technology, and Agnieszka Pilat's digital installation truly embodies the merging of creation and invention. 🤖💡 Her artwork, "Heterobota," delves deep into the complex connections between humans and machinery in a world where our reliance on technology is growing. It's a thought-provoking piece that challenges our perception of objects and the emotions they evoke. When I encountered "Heterobota," I couldn't help but be reminded of a concept known as the uncanny valley. This concept describes the unsettling feeling people experience when they encounter robots or animated characters that closely resemble humans but fall just short of being completely realistic. It's like when you see a lifelike doll that looks almost human, but something about it feels off-putting. The closer an artificial object comes to mimicking a real human, the stronger our emotional response becomes. However, there's a critical point where the object is so close to being human, yet not quite there, that it triggers a sense of discomfort, rejection, or even fear in observers. Encountering this concept in "Heterobota" left me feeling both perplexed and deeply intrigued. It made me question at what point something created by humans can evoke a sense of humanity, while also being met with rejection. As machines take on more responsibilities and become increasingly autonomous, can they go beyond serving our needs? Can they truly create? How are we democratizing access to art? I've been in the art tech space for the last 5 years and I realized that the majority of people do not engage with art simply because they don't understand it. There's a sort of "intellectual" barrier that discourages 99% of people from engaging with art because they don't feel enough educated to speak about it. Mæ fills this gap with a community-based solution that empowers anyone to make art part of their daily life. We've built an art journaling tool that allows anyone to journal through art and keep track of their emotions and state of mind with #genai personal insights. This enables anyone, regardless of their background, to get value from art both from a mental well-being perspective and from a social perspective. How do you think this can affect the art world? Well, if more and more people engage with art and speak about it, there are increasingly more opportunities for more artists. Today was another great day for ZAUBAR. Our founders Anne-Sophie Panzer-and Stefan Marx presented to the XReco’s General Assembly in Amsterdam at Sound HQ in Amsterdam. Together with Atos and Continental we showcased the innovative approach to storytelling by integrating Timisoara’s rich history into the demonstrator. XReco, an acronym for eXtended Reality mEdia eCOsystem, is a groundbreaking project co-funded by the European Commission to revolutionize the media industry. The objective is to create a novel, data-centric ecosystem that facilitates data sharing, exploration and retrieval, while fostering the development of news and entertainment content in #XR (Extended Reality). 20 partners from 12 countries combine their competences and visions to enable efficient media data sharing, discovery, recommendations, and transformations, involving different types and sizes of media organizations. The mission? All combined technologies enable the creation of XR content faster and without the need for specific coding skills.
