The Future of High-Speed Air Travel The race for the next supersonic aircraft is intensifying, with various aerospace companies and governments competing to reintroduce commercial supersonic flights and develop hypersonic technologies for civilian use. Since the retirement of Concorde in 2003, I have always dreamed of traveling at Mach speed. I recently came across an article about Virgin Galactic's progress toward the next design phase. Meanwhile, Boom Supersonic is leading the charge with its Overture, a Mach 1.7 commercial airliner. The full-sized Overture is expected to begin production in 2025 and could enter service by 2030. Sydney to Melbourne in 11 minutes and 33 seconds. Sydney to London in 4 hours, 35 minutes, 5 seconds. Los Angeles to New York in 1 hour, 3 minutes, 46 seconds. Los Angeles to San Francisco in 9 minutes, 3 seconds. London to Paris in 5 minutes and 35 seconds. London to Dubai in 44 minutes and 19 seconds. Tokyo to Los Angeles in 2 hours, 22 minutes, 37 seconds. My dream will happen since the supersonic plant is in my town, Greensboro (GSO-PTI).

Client, Boom Supersonic, made history with their supersonic flight! CONGRATS! It was awesome to listen to the Test Director and Test Pilot Geppetto pre-flight coordination and checklist protocols. Listen to the video when you have a minute! In aviation, checklists aren’t optional. They’re non-negotiable. Why? Because lives are on the line, and failure is not an option. Now think about your business processes. Are you running them with the same precision or are you just winging it? Here’s the cold, hard truth: 1️⃣ Without a checklist, consistency dies. Whether it’s closing a sale or delivering a product, skipping steps leads to chaos. A checklist eliminates “oops” moments and drives flawless execution. 2️⃣ Misalignment kills momentum. Pilots don’t argue over who’s flipping the switch they know the plan. In business, a checklist defines roles, removes excuses, and keeps everyone accountable. 3️⃣ Hope is a liability. 🛰️🪐 MESA-GATEWAY & VIRGIN GALACTIC 🪐🛰️ Two years after choosing Mesa to be the home for its manufacturing facility for next-generation spaceships, Virgin Galactic has completed its buildout. Final assembly production is right around the corner. Virgin Galactic has brought out an initial team of technical operations and manufacturing personnel that will prep the facility for tooling. As it completes ground testing, Virgin Galactic's mothership will ferry completed Delta spaceships to Spaceport America in southern New Mexico, where it will conduct flight tests ahead of launching commercial operations in 2026. Virgin Galactic occupies two hangars at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, in its Gateway Executive Park. The company's presence spans more than 140,000 square feet, where it will hire hundreds of engineering and manufacturing employees. Gateway Executive Airpark LLC and Virgin Galactic are eligible to take advantage of the airport's status as a Military Reuse Zone, a distinction that offers tax incentives to aviation or aerospace companies, as well as airport authorities located within such a zone. The incentives aren't made available to the developer until a project is 100% complete.
