🔍 What is Zenodo? Why is Open Access Important? Zenodo is an open-access repository, funded by the European Commission and managed by CERN, to make research widely accessible. Through Zenodo, the EU Open Research Repository is advancing open science by providing a secure, searchable platform where EU-funded research outputs—including data, reports, software, and presentations—are free for anyone to access. This approach supports transparency, accelerates innovation, and helps disseminate knowledge across fields. 🚀 SCENE on Zenodo! The SCENE project has its own Zenodo community "Searchable multi-dimensional Data Lakes supporting Cognitive Film Production & Distribution for the Promotion of European Cultural Heritage"—where we share our publications. 💡 Explore our publications and become a member of our community: https://bit.ly/3O8n2mM

Public distrust in scientists is on the rise, but UW-Madison Life Sciences Communication professor Nan Li has found that presenting data through art, not just raw numbers, is a more accessible way for scientists to reach their audiences. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gTxSjs5y.

Inspired by a list of mankind's greatest scientific discoveries, Bull & Bear discuss the established and emerging Life Science markets around the world. The pair discover that the US clusters of Boston (1) and San Francisco (2) lead the way, with the UK's Golden Triangle (3) the highest ranked Life Sciences hotspot in Europe. The strength of these markets depends on a host of factors, like access to VC funding and R&D, business environment and property costs. But, wherever you are in the world, the key ingredient is access to deep pools of scientific talent.

Conference: “Researching Media Production in the Global South” Dear colleagues, A reminder of the online conference ‘Researching Media Production in the Global South’, which is taking place this Thursday, 30 May 2024 on Zoom, 10am to 3:15pm (GMT+1). The conference explores the particularities involved in researching media production in non-Western sites of production. The event pulls together theoretically informed empirical studies that initiate and extend conversations about the particularities involved in studying non-Western sites of media production that stretch from well-established media outlets to newer forms emerging with the proliferation of digital technologies. Further information about the event including a conference programme and a link to register are available at the conference website:https://lnkd.in/e_2G6zJD. There is no fee for attending this event. Best wishes, Conference: “Researching Media Production in the Global South” 30 May 2024 (Zoom) Conference website: https://lnkd.in/e_2G6zJD

Already told you about this article https://lnkd.in/gxeiEQgd but this time I am trying a virtual poster with a focus on the main findings. Should I communicate my next discoveries in this way? I take inspiration from https://lnkd.in/gPVjGwT4

Yesterday I had a notification with "Facebook memories" and reminded me few things listed in 4 chapters herein, Chapter-1 Fifth International Conference (IC) “NONLINEAR DYNAMICS -2016,” One of the first ICs with remote live sessions (before COVID pandemic). 1.1 Conference announcement through Facebook (Fb) https://lnkd.in/dnHjF5BZ 1.2 Photos of this conference on Fb https://lnkd.in/dW8MqaDW Noting that some of them are from the projected screen with remotely participated scientists Chapter-2 Special Issue On this conference I participated with an extended abstract and a full article (both accepted after review) for the conference proceedings. Three editors selected articles from the conference proceedings, to be published in the following Special Issue, https://lnkd.in/dbYKuyQA Unfortunately due to a small error on the model that I used for the dynamic analysis on the full article on the conference proceedings I had to re-derive the equations of motion and then proceed to a new dynamic analysis that led to my article for this Special Issue, https://lnkd.in/gAHjt_Y Chapter-3 Most downloaded/accessed article for the 30 years of Nonlinear Dynamics I was thinking that it was one of my best scientific works and as an open access article almost day by day I was checking the "downloads" by taking screenshots of the web page of the article (unaccounted visits upon the standards) and I still have them in word document. On 3rd of September 2020 I received an e-mail by the Editor-In-Chief (EIC) from the Nonlinear Dynamics Journal to congratulate me that my article is among the top 3 articles for the 30th years of service of this journal and the EIC provided to me the associated link of Springer's video, https://lnkd.in/d5w4MP5i This video has been played many times during NODYCON 2021, and as an embedded one that anyone can see it is in the sponsor's video (the relevant announcement about my article is on 1:57-2:03 minute) of the program's web page of the conference, https://lnkd.in/d2WCWKmf My article is still the 2nd most downloadable article with 16k accesses. Chapter-4 My view to target high number of downloads Upon my view this article has so many downloads because the content is targeting very broad "type" of readers, -mathematicians (nonlinear dynamics), -physicists (physics away from equilibrium), -engineers with research in rotating structures -industrial engineers (finite element software cannot perform comprehensive nonlinear dynamic analysis). I concluded that seeking high number of downloads we must broaden the type of readers. Evidently, the current top article in Nonlinear Dynamics has been published during COVID pandemic and it is about the COVID pandemic...

Looking forward to attending LINUS' webinar tomorrow. I've been counting on State of Science for years to gain the latest industry insights. Is there anything we can do to further build trust in #AI tools? #biotech #pharma #lifesciences #buildingtrust #AI
In the second half of 2024, scientists are sensing the impact of barriers related to trust. Their prioritization of new collaborations and external partners means that trust will be a key lever to connect with this audience in the remainder of this year. More on this during our State of Science webinar tomorrow. RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/g3vQtw3t

Swedish/EU ecosystem for global collaboration Looking into concept of planning and creating new collaborations between networks. The implementation will be in three phases: setup, research ourcomes, and impact and exploitation. We know that networks are very useful. Networks of networks should then be a way to make more usefulness. Very logical. Networks can join to create a networks of networks around a common scientific theme, like silicon carbide. They share resources, knowledge, and tools to address complex problems. Activities include workshops, data sharing, training programs, and science initiatives. Of course such will be based on individual interests and need of each network. That is why there will be collaborative network and competence ecosystem meetings in 2025 with those interested to build further on the global network.
