While there are common elements associated with E-Girl aesthetics, it is important to remember that E-Girl aesthetic is highly individualistic, and there's no one "right" way to embrace it. Don't feel pressured to conform to a specific stereotype; E-Girl fashion, just like any other fashion, is a form of self-expression that allows you to communicate your personality, interests, and values through your style #egirl #alternativefashion #rebelsmarket https://lnkd.in/dmcufuWM

Fashion trends come and go. And then they come back again. Sometimes, with a vengeance — certain trends might be better if they stay in the past as a bad memory. (Here’s looking at you low-rise jeans.) But one trend that will always remain is that your mom or dad will be your first stylist. Before you have a say in your style, you’re put in matching ensembles with your siblings or rocking a graphic tee of your dad’s favorite band. As kids come into their own style, you’ll likely hear more than once, “What are you wearing?!” from both sides. Navigating this dynamic and bridging fashion between generations is nothing new to Debbie Slusar, owner of @amorefedeboutique, and her daughter Brittany. Debbie recalls, “Brittany usually wore what she wanted when she was old enough to put her own styles together. A lot of times when she was little, I would have her in mismatched items; we laugh about that now! She definitely has a great style today.” “I would say I developed a sense of style at a young age, and my mom always encouraged my style, whatever it was at the time,” shares Brittany. “My mom’s first piece of fashion advice was to not care what other people think and always wear what makes you happy and feels good!” Advice both now pass along to their customers at the boutique. “I am constantly telling women to wear what makes them comfortable,” says Debbie. “We believe fashion is self-expression. Skinny jeans, straight jeans, wide-leg jeans, flare jeans. If you like how they feel and look, wear them!” Get more of the trends Debbie and Brittany love and how they navigate styles through the generations with the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gYyWyEse 📸: @jamie_joos_photography . . . #fallinmn #fallfun #exploremn #onlyinmn #lakeminnetonkalife #CLLakeMinnetonka #CityLifestyle #LakeMinnetonkaLifestyle #LakeMinnetonka #LakeLife #CityLife #LiveLocal #smallbusiness #SupportLocal #Minnesota #Local #MN

Don’t change to fit the fashion, change the fashion to fit you - Inescapable Beauty . I am mocked and criticized many times for not wearing makeup like most girls do, not dying my greying hairs to hide them, or even how I dress. Such opinions never affect me. Why? Because I am at peace with myself: I love my white strands, I don’t need makeup to enhance anything in my eyes, and clothes? They simply serve my mood of the moment 😁 . Style is something that each of us already has, all we need to do is find it - Diane Von Fürstenberg . Blame it on me being a rebel or simply the fact that I never was a follower. Ever since I can remember, I have never wished to do what others did to fit in. I always wanted to be accepted for who I am. Different maybe. But genuinely and authentically being ME. It was never a cult of the “I” but rather a true expression of self, away from peer pressure that is lost on me 🤷🏻♀️ . Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it - Yves Saint Laurent . Our societies wish to mould us into people who are similar in behavior, thoughts, and looks. Yet the core beauty of humanity lies in its diversity. And with all the -so far failed- attempts to make clones of us, with dictated beauty standards, promoted styles, and trendy fashions, people still express their uniqueness in so many various ways! As they humanly should ☺️ . Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside - Coco Chanel . #newseries #thejarofthoughts #newyear2024 #fashion #fashionstyle #fashiontrends #beauty #fit #elegance #insideout #marishasblog

Beauty and Fashion Content Creator|Voice-over artist|Video editor. I help you stand out in both skin and style.
Every outfit tells a story!!! From the little or simplest of wears to the most extraordinary of any outfit. But it doesn't still change the fact that your outfit reflect who you are and what you're trying to say by dressing up. Haven't you heard the adage that says "your dressing determines how you'll be addressed" And honestly that's the truth. Your dressing or Outfits determines who you are. It is a voice that speaks to people without you saying a word, So learn to embrace diversity in your closet and wear what feels right by you, because you alone knows what you want. I remember when I finally got my own style of dressing, Though some days my dressing or make up doesn't sit well with some people... But it still didn't change the fact that any outfit I put on tells a story that no one knows about. And instead of trying to please the crowd, I decided to dress up how I want the crowd to see me. I paid no attention to the noise and critics because they opinions doesn't matter. So if you want to change your fashion narrative this year, Then you've to be determined not to pay attention to what the crowd says... You'll need to be open to try out different areas of dressings till you've found the one that best suits you. So when next you pick up any outfit to wear, ask yourself what story do you want your dressing to tell. And how do you want to portray it. Happy Tuesday #linkedinfam P.S. Personal Stylist specialising in colour analysis, personal shopping and styling for men and women. Create an empowering wardrobe that works as hard as you do.
A fellow stylist and I were discussing the recent reports that "the skinny jean is back". In what feels like an uncomfortably quick turnaround, at least two fashion bibles, Vogue and WhoWhatWear, spotted the trend at Miui Miu and Balenciaga amongst others, and the die, it seems, was cast for autumn winter 2024. This does not sit easy with me and not just because this particular style makes my legs look like parsnips. Skinny jeans became a go-to everyday piece for millions of women thanks in part to their similarity to leggings - comfort being key. Millions of women (even those, me included, who wore drainpipes in the eighties and swore they'd never do so again) found themselves with at least one pair and so when after lockdown the death knell sounded for the spray-on look, I had many despairing clients. But at least they'd had a (surprisingly) good innings. As personal stylists, we promote the idea that finding your style does not mean slavishly following trends or buying into something you don't love. There is no one cut or fit of jeans that suits everyone and I for one will always recommend going for the style you feel works best for you and your lifestyle - no matter what the masses are currently favouring. If that happens to be the skinny jean, then great. Given the cost of living crisis and the progress made in encouraging more thoughtful purchases, it irks me that some women may now feel they've made the wrong decision in finally investing in a straight-cut or a wide-leg jean. We all know that denim is one of the biggest culprits in terms of water consumption and while jeans don't necessarily have to cost a fortune, let's not underestimate the often tiresome and exhausting journey involved in finding the perfect pair. I have a pair of Ralph Lauren bootcut jeans bought in TK Maxx over ten years ago and I've worn them throughout the last decade. I also have a flared pair and a cropped pair which come out when I feel in the mood. I vote we drown out the skinny jean scaremongering and go with what we love - after all, we can't all be Kate Moss. Who's in? #personalstylist #wardrobedilemma #springwardrobe
