Incredibly impressive article on what impacts the time-to-apply for jobs across different sectors and using different tools. Short story: The process to apply for a job in hyped-up industries like AI and neobanks using tools like Lever or Ashby are many times faster than looking for a Deloitte or government job using SAP or Workday. Lots of learning to do here in Sweden where, as usual, the "IT wonder" is mostly a myth.

Recently, I had the opportunity to lead a project that has transformed the way our team manages pending accounts. Let me introduce you to our game-changing tool! The Challenge The team generates a report for six tracks and it is time consuming about 45 min every day. Handling pending accounts efficiently is crucial for meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensuring customer satisfaction. However, our manual processes were time-consuming, prone to errors, and sometimes led to missed SLAs. We needed a solution that would empower our team to stay on top of pending accounts in real-time. The Solution: Our Custom-Built Tool Key Features: 1. Real-Time Updates : Our tool automatically refreshes every 5 minutes, providing live updates on pending accounts. No more waiting for manual reports! 2. SLA Tracking : With a clear dashboard, team members can monitor SLAs and take proactive steps to meet deadlines. 3. Performance Insights: The tool displays team performance metrics for the day, helping us identify areas for improvement. 4. SharePoint Integration: Seamlessly connected to our SharePoint system, the tool fetches data directly from relevant sources. 5. User-Friendly Interface: Even non-technical team members find it easy to navigate and use. Behind the Scenes: How We Built It 1. Pivot Tables: We leveraged pivot tables in Excel to summarize and analyze large datasets efficiently. 2. Power Query: Transforming raw data was a breeze with Power Query. It allowed us to clean, merge, and shape data effortlessly. 3. Conditional Formatting: Visual cues highlight urgent pending accounts, ensuring timely action. 4. Index Match: We used this powerful combination to retrieve specific information from our data tables. 5. VLOOKUP + IF Formula: These functions helped us cross-reference data and create dynamic reports. The Impact Since implementing our tool: 1)Reduced Turnaround Time: Our team now addresses pending accounts faster, meeting SLAs consistently. 2)Increased Accountability: Everyone is aware of their performance metrics, fostering a sense of ownership. 3)No More Missed SLAs: The real-time updates ensure we never overlook critical accounts.
