Managing Director - DB Recruitment | Recruitment Expert | Technology Recruitment | Executive Search | +353 834535426 - david@db-recruitment.ie
Constantly complaining about a job you have been unhappy in for a long period of time without doing anything about it is like living in Ireland and complaining every time it rains. One of the rewarding parts of working in recruitment is helping someone get out of a role they have been unhappy in. Some examples have been: ▶️ Finding a company that offers more remote work so you can spend more time with your family instead of commuting. ▶️Finding a role that pays your worth instead of getting small increases in your current role while your responsibilities are dramatically increasing. ▶️Finding a company that rewards high performance compared to the false promises you have received in the past on promotions etc. ▶️Finding a manager that you actually like working for whi pushes you to get to the next level of your career. If you are unhappy in your role that's not going to change, your 2 options are to either lower your expectations and accept it or go out and find a role that gives you what you deserve. I think you know what is the best route!

I’m a huge sports fan and saw this post and I thought it directly correlates hand in hand with Sales as we’re both in the business of what have you done for me lately? Every job I’ve ever had says we’re like a family, but is that really true? I think it depends on your family. To me it makes me think about a few things: Is company loyalty a thing of the past? How does the New Generation of TA and Hiring Managers view consistent job changes on a resume? How do organizations better prepare to retain top talent as these individuals are consistently being presented with opportunities with benefits and higher pay? Besides working remote and pay what are employees looking for in an organzation? I’d love to know the communities thoughts around how this quote correlates to all the sales people out there.

The business world is a dynamic one and it is not uncommon for a situation to arise where a team may have an opportunity arising for a new role or position in which they have someone currently employed and doing exceptionally well. This can lead to a complex question: Is it fair to hire someone new for a position when an existing employee is already excelling in the role? #workplacefairness #Employeerecognition #fairorunfair

Staffing. Let’s be honest, if you work in hospitality, it’s likely to be one of your biggest challenges. It's not just about finding people—it's about the cost, the culture, and the constant struggle to keep a team together. We're working smarter, cutting costs where we can, and investing in our staff, but there's a deeper issue here. Hospitality isn't always seen as a career, and that needs to change. We need to make sure we create great cultures, offer pathways to success, and do our best to make it a rewarding environment. I am blessed to have a solid team behind me, a testament to the culture we've nurtured at MISC. Based solely on my experiences, I've put together some personal insights and practical tips on hiring in our industry, which you might find helpful. Feel free to check out here: https://lnkd.in/gK_qrFmm I'd love to hear how do you support and retain your hospitality staff? #staffing #hospitalitystaffing #hospitalityindustry #hospitalityinaustralia

I explored it, but it wasn’t for me. A couple of months ago, I shared my gratitude for joining an established recruitment business and starting to build my HR network in Queensland —something I hadn’t considered since returning to the Sunshine State. This move was largely driven by the mental health challenges I had been experiencing since relocating back to QLD from Melbourne. The isolation of working alone, selling virtually to a predominantly Victorian network from my small office on the Sunshine Coast, took a toll. After just five weeks in this new environment, I decided to leave the organisation. Here are three realisations I had during this time: ➡️ Although I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity, accepting this role felt like ‘taking the easy path.’ No matter how hard the journey is, I can't just let go and give up on all the time, energy, and money I’ve invested in my long-term vision: to reshape and innovate the traditional recruitment agency approach. I passionately believe there is much more value to be delivered when engaging with talent and supporting businesses in their quest for the best talent. I need to keep working on this. ➡️ Despite the difficulties and loneliness of the entrepreneurial journey, there are other ways for me to find the collaboration and connection I crave. I need to be more proactive and creative in my approach. ➡️ Meeting and connecting with people (especially face-to-face) is what I need in my life. It energises me. Brisbane and Queensland are completely new markets for me, and building a new network will take time, but I love listening to and learning from individuals' personal career and life stories, as well as gaining business insights. The fire has been stoked, and HeXTalent is being relaunched in a new market. If you're looking to hire HR talent or interested in discussing HR market trends and job opportunities, please reach out.
