FUTUART competes for COP29 Azerbaijan Grant: Unveiling "TechTerra" to Bridge Art and Technology for Environmental Awareness Project Overview: "TechTerra" seeks to engage the digital generation in a meaningful dialogue about future sustainability. The project offers two distinct exhibition options: Option 1: described in previous post. Option 2: An evocative showcase of 7-8 digital pieces inspired by nature's intricate patterns, complemented by an installation made from locally sourced organic materials such as stones, wood, and moss. This harmonious blend of digital and physical elements reinforces the connection between technology and the environment. Mission and Goals: FUTUART believes that addressing sustainability and environmental safety requires a global, multidisciplinary approach. "TechTerra" aims to: Raise awareness about the critical need for environmental care. Encourage viewers to protect the natural world. Use digital technology and natural materials to create contemporary art that educates and inspires action. FUTUART's participation in the COP29 grant program underscores their commitment to fostering a deeper understanding and connection to ecological challenges through art and technology. By integrating these elements, "TechTerra" not only captivates with its aesthetic appeal but also calls for heightened environmental care and awareness, urging all who experience it to reflect on their role in preserving our planet's natural beauty and sustainability.

Sustainability Research & Innovation Congress 2024 in collaboration with Sustainability Science Days. Finland - 10-14 June. The week-long event, SRI/SSD2024, will bring together 2000+ participants from more than 100 countries online and in-person to both Aalto University in Espoo and University of Helsinki in Finland. “The SRI Congress offers an exceptionally inclusive and inspiring global platform for co-creating state-of-the-art solutions and innovations and building a coalition of the willing to achieve a sustainability transformation.” UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition Founding Executive Director, Steven Hartman will be representing BRIDGES on a Climate and Cultural Heritage (CCH) panel titled “Sensory Heritage.” The panel will foster transdisciplinary discussions addressing urgent sustainability challenges, made up of representatives from projects under the CCH scheme. Steven will be discussing the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition Coastal TALES project, which asks: How can stories of past practices help people (re)discover more sustainable ways of living in their rapidly changing coastal environments? The goal of the project is to show how heritage stories can generate tangible local action that diverse communities can draw on to adapt to a changing climate. Using a transdisciplinary approach, building on the knowledge and agency of local communities in dialogue with academic expertise across the spectrum of humanities and sciences. Climate and Cultural Heritage – Collaborative research to address urgent challenges. The CCH collaborative research action (CRA) focuses on “the impact of climate change on cultural heritage and opportunities for climate mitigation and sustainable development. In the context of COP29 and before we embrace 2025, what if we took a step back and perceived sustainability in a historical learning: expectations, achievements, obstacles and expanding the vision, in a collective intelligence reflection. The cultural sector offers a distinctive platform for interconnecting policy and public action through its role as a medium of collective storytelling and expression. From integrating sustainability into artistic practices to using cultural events as awareness-raising campaigns, the sector can amplify and democratise climate messages.
