URGENT: 100 Strangers Needed in 24 Hours — Minneapolis creatives, I need your help. Hello LinkedIn. It's Liban (lee~ben) here, and I'm reaching out with an urgent message. As the founder of Strangers Meeting Strangers (SMS), I find myself in a situation where I need to be fully transparent with our community. We're facing a challenge, and I take full responsibility for it. Tomorrow night, we're hosting our second non-government affiliated Town Hall at Theatre in the Round — an event that's grown from a simple idea of two strangers meeting on stage to becoming the largest intentional gathering of creatives in our city. But here's the truth: We've planned for 200 attendees, and with just 24 hours to go, we're only halfway there (100/200). This is on me. I waited too long to reach out, believing that word would spread naturally. I was wrong, and now I'm turning to you — our community — for support. Picture this: A 360-degree theater filled with artists, musicians, and creatives from all walks of life. The air is electric with anticipation. Strangers are becoming collaborators. Real, raw conversations are unfolding. The soul-stirring melodies of The Cherry Pit are washing over the crowd. Tickets available here: https://lu.ma/6518k4tt Why Attend? (1) Real Talk: Engage in honest conversations about money, purpose, and the challenges of a creative life. (2) Live Music: Experience the beautiful, soul-stirring melodies of The Cherry Pit. (3) Community Building: Be part of a movement shaping the future of our creative community. (4) Networking: Connect with fellow creatives who understand your journey. This isn't just another networking event. It's a chance to speak your truth and be heard, to shape the future of our creative community. If you're reading this, I want you to please consider yourself personally invited. And if you can't make it, I'd like you to share this message. Your single share could bring the person who changes the trajectory of our creative scene. Tickets available here: https://lu.ma/6518k4tt From one stranger to another, thank you. #StrangersMeetingStrangers #SMS #MinneapolisCreatives #TownHall #CommunityBuilding

On this episode of Arts Engines with Aaron Dworkin, he speaks to Eduardo Delgado, Public Programs Director of the New World Symphony, who shares how the symphony harnesses evolving technology to realize its artistic vision of fostering meaningful connections with the community. For Eduardo, community engagement isn't just about outreach—it's about building genuine connections in public settings. By collaborating with trusted community leaders, the symphony seeks to bridge the gap and cultivate authentic relationships with the communities they serve. As Eduardo notes, trust is earned, not assumed, and partnerships must be approached with humility and mutual respect. One shining example of the New World Symphony's commitment to accessibility is the "Wallcast" program. What began as a modest endeavor with concerts on TV screens has blossomed into full-screen projections on building walls, offering free concerts in the park—a testament to their dedication to breaking down barriers and bringing music to all. But innovation doesn't stop there. Recognizing the need for inclusivity and diversity in their audience, the symphony pioneered the "Mobile Wallcast" initiative. By taking the concert experience to communities, they're ensuring that music transcends physical boundaries and resonates with diverse audiences across Miami. At its core, this is more than just about music—it's about understanding and embracing the spaces where art breathes and evolves. Partnerships, Eduardo emphasizes, must be reciprocal, honoring the excellence that exists in every corner of our communities. Yet, we must tread with care and mindfulness. The New World Symphony, like any other organization, must be committed to entering communities where their presence is welcome, ensuring that projects and programs are co-created and mutually beneficial. Change takes time—but the rewards are worth it. #Arts #Culture #Music #Programming #Community #CommunityEngagement #AudienceEngagement #NewWorldSymphony #Miami #Florida #Technology #Artistry #Collaboration #Accessibility #Innovation #Trust #Change

Are you looking at Linked In differently since last weekend? Are you looking at everything a little more fearsomely as the drama builds in the US and around the world? Are you nicely, instead, continuing to just get on where you are, in your flow? You're on to something if you're in creative flow state, but in politically troubling times, with social trends continuing to spice up like the climate numbers you're also trying to ignore, I suggest it takes a certain kind of expressive consciousness to choose making stuff over letting stuff be plundered. But how to find the courage? Or know where to start. In my latest Expo I share some thoughts around the informal recording of my interview for Pier Journal's summer edition with the energising Nicola Cartlidge from AUB, Venues & Events manager now holding the keys to the Palace Court Theatre. And you'll hear, as she walks me around the building, it's a lesson in how to hold space together for working up cultural resilience. If you want futures to be excited about more than scared of, this is example of how we do it. Hope over to Substack now to read and listen – this week's Unsee The Future expo: "Fearful times need bold creativity – and holding space together for what that means from each of us." https://lnkd.in/eSnXbVsX #futures #politics #art #theatre #creativity #storytelling #culturalstrategy #sustainability #artschool #resilience #UnseeTheFuture

Have you heard of environmental branding? It's a strategy where a brand's identity and character are applied to a physical space, creating a unique connection with its audience. At Voice Coaches, we take advantage of this approach by utilizing the wall space between three of our four studios. This space not only greets clients but also showcases our brand in a creative and impressive way! #enviormentalbranding #VoiceOver #yourvoicematters
Good morning voice over people. Thought you might enjoy this pic of our word wall that greets vo artists and clients as they enter our studios 2,3, and 4. Enjoy your day!

Was wonderful to see the impact of having arts and sciences come together on the subject of warnings and disaster reduction and having been able to contribute to this work. If we are to improve warnings we need to improve how we communicate, how we co-produce and co-create, and we need to join arts and sciences to do that! This is essential to help us better connect with people receiving, using and developing the warnings and across them. We need to go beyond merely advancing surveillance and detection. #artsandsciences #coproduction #cocreation #earlywarnings #EWS #disasteriskreduction
📢 Exciting news: we are out with #TheHutNexus first article! Written by Diego Giuliani, the article delves into the relationship between art and science, and how theatre can turn into a knowledge transfer tool to spread awareness about early #WarningSystems and #DisasterRiskReduction practices. 👉 Find the article at: https://lnkd.in/dwPPZAUb Photo courtesy of FullCircle PlaybackTheatre.

Is it the Truth...? 1:06:06 but but now it's like it's you know the the challenge for creators right now is is is telling stories that that um 1:06:15 expand over time you know and building trust that lasts a long time and and as as as I say you can you can engage 1:06:20 people or I can engage people by by reaching them but but the the the question that I find more interesting 1:06:26 when it comes to you know success you know how successful am I or what's my how successful am I is it's not how many 1:06:33 people have I reached it's of the people that I reached how many of those did I move whether whether that's I reached 20 1:06:40 people two people two million people 20 million people 200 million people 1:06:45 whatever that number is What proportion of those people did I move and then the question becomes for any artist what 1:06:50 does it take to move a person what does that take and there's only one answer to that 1:06:56 really and it's to be you the person who you are and to tell stories that are 1:07:01 true to to tell the truth you don't have to be honest all the time and this is exactly how I see everything https://lnkd.in/eMzP-eSu

Fascinating discussion on the importance and challenges of proving provenance and the possible (disastrous) consequences if you don't. Brilliant expert panelist Angelina Giovani-Agha giving some fascinating insights into the processes involved. An excellent listen! If you are interested in attending a workshop with Angelina hosted by us on Due Diligence and Research Strategies, please email social@hallettindpendent.com to register your interest. #artmarket #provenance #duediligence
I had a wonderful experience this morning as a guest on BBC4 "Start of the Week", along with the National Gallery curator of the new Caravaggio show Francesca Whitlum-Cooper and Orlando Whitfield author of the brilliant new book "All that glitters". We spoke about provenance, risk in the art market and Caravaggio's innovative approach to well known subject matters! Thank you to @BB4, Natalia Fernandez, Katy Hickman and Tom Sutcliffe for having me! you can have a listen to the episode below: https://lnkd.in/eEg2PbZC
