Unboxing Creativity: UPS's Journey from QR Codes to Artistic Triumph Reflecting on our incredible journey with the Vantan Design Institute in Japan, my heart swells with pride for our team's groundbreaking achievement. Embracing the "2% rule" philosophy -believing wholeheartedly that a minimal yet strategic investment in branding can propel us beyond imagined boundaries - we embarked on a mission fuelled by creativity and a stringent budget. Launching the LINE app required an innovative approach to promotion, emphasising the critical touchpoint of packaging during the shipping or tracking process, where customers' engagement peaks. The challenge was clear: how could we introduce a QR code onto our packaging, not just for functionality but as a beacon of connection, without the financial burden of a complete overhaul? The brainstorming led to an epiphany- the power of collaboration with a design school, a synergy of providing a platform for emerging artists while elevating our brand presence. The campaign's evolution was nothing short of inspirational. What started as a simple competition blossomed into a comprehensive showcase of talent, spanning emoji stickers to a promotional video. Witnessing the creativity and passion that brought our "Be Unstoppable" campaign to life was a profound experience. As a judge, the innovation and spirit of the submissions were breathtaking, serving as a vivid reminder of the boundless potential that collaboration and bold ideas hold. This project wasn't just a success; it was a vivid illustration of how, even with limited resources, thinking outside the box can lead to extraordinary outcomes. What I also love, is the giving back to the community, helping students get their "break" in the world. Again the power of a collaborative team both regionally and locally in Japan was the key to success of this.
