DRAFT RELEASED - Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards – Disclosure of Climate-related Financial Information The Australian Accounting Standards Board has released last week the Exposure Draft (ED SR1) for the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards – Disclosure of Climate-related Financial Information to propose climate-related financial disclosure requirements. ED SR1 is open for comment until Friday, 1 March 2024. The Exposure Draft is based on the recently released standards developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) organisation. It outlines the proposed Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) for companies to report on climate-related information. As a point of interest, the draft includes a small change to the original indicative timeline, and has a specific section dealing with companies that are not exposed to climate-related financial risk (under their own assessment). It essentially requires them to disclose the lack of exposure and the rationale they used to come to this conclusion. #sustainablebusiness #esg #sustainabilityreporting #asrs #businesssustainability
