Sentry is a debuggability platform that provides real-time insights into production deployments with info to reproduce and fix errors, crashes, and slow code. We are very lucky to welcome Krystof Woldrich from Sentry to join the stream and live demo some debug magic. From the Expo side we will have debug wizard and father of Expo Atlas, Cedric Van Putten. The two of them are going to show a complete debug flow: • First they'll throw an error in an Expo app... • The error is coming from native, but is caused by a server where Expo also runs (just an API route)... • Then we'll see how Sentry can trace across services to show you where the error occurred. We might throw in a little DOM component bonus content in the stream if people want to hear about it... Please bring your scariest react native debug nightmares to this stream and we'll talk them through. It's part therapy, part tutorial. I was working on a social media platform inspired by Threads. I could manage to build a small MVP with pretty much most of the functionalities that Threads have, where you can post threads, comment on others' threads, create your own community, change the profile picture and more. I learned new technologies while building the project, such as Clerk authentication, Shadcn UI, Next.js server actions which abstracted away the need for a separate Node.js back-end server with API calls which I have employed many times in my previous projects. Ditto is a Nostr community server. It has a built-in Nostr relay, a web UI, and it implements Mastodon's REST API. It has moderation. It has spam filters. It has NIP-05 self-service. It has quote posts, emoji reactions, and zaps. ⚡ The scope of this project is absolutely huge. It aims to take everything that's good about Mastodon and implement it on Nostr, with none of the downsides. One of the first things I wanted to do is make Soapbox work on Nostr. Soapbox is a polished UI for Mastodon that I started developing in 2019. It went on to become the web frontend for Truth Social in 2022.
