📢 There's still time to book onto this #RethinkingCataloguing discussion with Sian Woodward, which will focus on cataloguing in the context of institutional memory (or forgetfulness). ✍ What is institutional memory and where is it found inside or outside your organisation – e.g. history books, Wikipedia pages, trustee minutes, exhibition files, staff memories? How can it help us understand collections and catalogue them better? How does institutional forgetfulness, for example as staff leave, impact this? What can we do to address these issues in the future? Join us to discuss these questions. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e53u22A5 #Museums #MuseumDocumentation #Event

I've just been on a managing museums and archives collections course. ° It's was interesting to learn the difference in procedure's that museums and archives have in regards to accessing collections, but what was also interesting is how very much alike both museums and archives are in regards to accessioning our collections, the only real differences is the terms used, and how we aquire collection pieces. ° Another interesting and useful course by #Museumsdevelopmentyorkshire ° ° ° ° ° #museums #archives #collectionscare #collections #management

Antimatter, 2021. Collaborative work by Skygolpe, Jesse Draxler, and Blessend for the SuperRare Exhibition "Un-realism: bridging the digital and physical realms" Born from an iconic collaboration bound to go down in history, this piece navigates the enigmatic annihilation of matter and antimatter into pure energy, simultaneously challenging and expanding the limits of human perception towards the unseen force of the void. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/enUujF6t

With the distinctive new building of the EYE Film Museum, the north of Amsterdam, near the city centre, is experiencing a welcome revival thanks to a throng of visitors. The futuristic structure is illuminated according to a simple principle. Four in-ground luminaires supply the light for the large inclined area, and the side parts of the building are illuminated with floodlights from a mounting height of 10 m, cautiously underlining the character-shaping form elements of the building. In addition to the data we publish on MNAHA Collections, where we focus on the display and contextualization of the objects in the museum's collection, we want to test publishing some curated datasets on data.public.lu in order to make them more accessible to people who wish to work with them. The first one is about the Jospeh Kutter collection of the MNAHA and its exhibition history. Let me know what you think! https://lnkd.in/dX2c4x9a
