📢Connecting your Heat Pump to the National Grid has gone digital The adoption of Heat pumps as a green alternative to heating homes and other buildings is part of the UK’s strategy to achieve a net-zero carbon economy by 2050. Heat pumps run on electricity from renewable sources instead of gas to provide both cooling and heating for a building. In order to facilitate this future requirement, National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) had an ambition to simplify the application process for new heat pump connections to the National Grid in the UK. Working with the NGED digital team we built an easy-to-use, intuitive online application form for NGED customers to complete when applying to connect their heat pump to the National Grid in the UK. Submission is quick and a decision is instant - a double win for the customer. The online form is now live. Read more 👉https://lnkd.in/eWkQFwhu #NetZero #DigitalImpact #CustomerExperience

Providing energy market insights to identify investment opportunities in the energy transition and shape policy and regulation.
Have had several conversations with people recently about whether the UK needs LDES, and these are pretty compelling results from our recent analysis that we delivered for UK government: · With the expected levels of renewable deployment in the UK, then the energy system could be producing excess renewable and nuclear energy during up to 64% of the hours. This is an increase from the 14% of hours in 2023 · Of the total GB energy shortfall/excess periods in 2035, over 50% of these events will last more than 24 hours, and over 25% lasting more than 48 hours. If we are to deliver energy transition cost effectively, then we definitely need to make LDES attractive for investment, and this looks like a positive development from government.
Excited that Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has today launched their consultation on a policy framework for Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES) outlining their intention to develop and cap and floor mechanism to support investment in these technologies. LCP Delta’s report, which we worked on with Regen, is published alongside the consultation and provided the evidence on the role and benefits that LDES can bring to the GB Power system. The below infographic outlines some of the key findings from the report. You can read more in our blog here - https://lnkd.in/eJBhbuu2. A great post from George Martin Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) is a critical piece of the Energy Transition puzzle if we are to fully harness the benefits of renewables as they come online. Being able to store that excess energy for later use will become even more critical as more renewables come on line.

Today the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero published their consultation on a policy framework for Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) for the GB system. Really proud of the LCP Delta team's work in producing the evidence base for this consultation, outlining the benefits LDES can bring to the GB power system. Highly recommend reading George Martin's blog below which summarises the findings very succinctly!

🌟 Annual Report 2023: Reflecting on a Year of Milestones at Nordic RCC! Our Annual Report 2023 has just seen the light of day. With the close of 2023, Nordic RCC celebrates a significant milestone – our first full calendar year in operation. It's been a year of meaningful progress as we’ve worked tirelessly to prepare for the future, provide valuable services to our customers, the Nordic electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and advance the green energy transition. We’ve tried to communicate the complexity of the work we do in a simple way and hope you will enjoy the read. Each section of the report has a distinct message: 💡In the Management Review, you can gain a better understanding of Nordic RCC, of our strategy, and of the role we play in the green energy transition, and you can also get insights from our CEO and Chairperson. 🔍In the section Task Monitoring, you can read about our mandatory and additional tasks including an implementation status. 📖 Our financial statement marks our first year with activities for a full calendar year as an independent company. None of the achievements mentioned in this report would have been possible without the unwavering support and collaboration of our partners, stakeholders, and most importantly our colleagues. #NRCC #AnnualReport #GreenEnergyTransition Explore the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gvaxmdxc

Energy sector can be difficult to understand even if you are inside the eco-system. With our annual report for 2023, which is our first full year report, we have tried to describe the complexity in a simple way. Why because we want the society to understand what we are doing and emphasise that if you work at Nordic RCC we do a difference – bridging Nordic Power Systems to enable the green energy transition by digitalizing. #GreenEnergyTransition #Digitalization #NordicRCC #Sustainability
