to everyone out there......... Ive been trying since 08AUG2023 to reach out to news agencies both local and national. Not one has responded to me at all. Its not clear to me why just yet. I have some thoughts: News agencies love to report on layoffs, however there isn't much follow up on the human side of these events. Where is the follow up and coverage of all the people that get laid off. What happens to them after the "newsworthy" event? All these people across the land making decisions to layoff..... they don't see anything in the news on the human side. They don't get to read about all the people and what happens to them after. I'm not talking about my situation cause the company that let me go has been awesomely accommodative. I'm talking about society and the news outlets and their lack of coverage/ follow up. Maybe if there was more of that locally and nationally then the folks at the top of all the companies would try harder to crunch numbers and know it's tough on the people laid off, their families, the economic impact to the local areas, etc. I can let you all know a list of all the outlets i have tried to reach. I will give them all another day and then post with contact info. Im also waiting for a call back from the Mayor of Baltimore. Update 28AUG2023: Adding info here.
