In continuing coverage of our CEO-in-Training (CIT) program, Business Insider’s Alex Nicoll featured David Wurtzbacher's story of going from MBA to CEO in just seven years through Alpine’s CIT program. Wurtzbacher was studying for his MBA at Harvard Business School when he learned about our program. Shortly after, he recalls that our team “just wanted to get to know who I really am” during interviews. The program matched him as a CFO for Lightwave Dental, a DC-based company operating dental practices in the Southeast that was within Alpine's portfolio at the time. The team grew from six locations to 80 during his time there. Now, Wurtzbacher is the founder and #CEO of Ascend where they are enabling CPAs to grow their practice while honoring their independence. “In less than a year and a half, we've already done a couple dozen acquisitions,” Wurtzbacher shares-- and the momentum will continue. Wurtzbacher largely attributes his rapid success to Alpine’s CIT program and its #PeopleFirst approach. “The twelve people who started the CIT class with me 12 years ago?
