It was a night of heartfelt success stories and red carpet moments. The Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Bariatric team recently hosted its second annual transformation celebration, honoring our patients' remarkable weight-loss journeys and dedication. Collectively, those featured lost over 2,000 pounds!
"We don't take time to celebrate the wins often enough, so it's really special that the bariatric center puts these on every year for us to really see what incredible stride we've made," said Katie, a Rutherford bariatric patient.

Today marks a monumental milestone as Johnson & Johnson MedTech announced the completion of its acquisition of V-Wave. As we cross this finish line, I find myself reflecting on what can only be described as a marathon run. As a long-distance runner in mindset, I've always known that in MedTech business, one must be prepared for the long haul when stepping onto this running track.
I am extremely proud of our breadth of medal-worthy achievements in all business verticals (R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Pre-Commercial, Marketing and Finance, to name a few), as they stand as a landmark in our quest to address critical unmet needs in cardiovascular health.
Nonetheless, V-Wave's true performance enhancer has always been our people. The talent, passion, and resilience of our team have been the driving force behind every breakthrough. I've had the privilege of running alongside hall-of-famers, brilliant minds, each bringing unique perspectives and skills to our race.
To all my V-Wave colleagues and teammates, Past and Present: Your contributions, efforts and diligence have been invaluable! Your success is a testament to the environment of growth and excellence we've fostered together.
As this chapter closes and a new one begins, I'm filled with anticipation for the future. Our journey at V-Wave has reinforced my belief in the power of visionary thinking, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to improving patient lives through innovative technology.
Here's to the next decade of groundbreaking advancements in healthcare. The best is yet to come!

Witness the transformative power of the AMBLE in this side-by-side video, showcasing a patient's progress during one of our most recent clinical trial.
See how, after just 9 hours of training, she's leaving her old self in the dust!
Key points from this recovery video:
-Even without intensive gait training, this patient nearly doubled their walking speed after just 9 hours of robotic dorsiflexion assist training with the AMBLE.
This remarkable transformation occurred 22 years post-stroke.
-Our clinical trials go beyond the 'on' switch. We measure progress with the AMBLE off after 1-2 months of training, AND we check in 6 weeks later, showing a lasting therapeutic effect for most patients.
The AMBLE is proof that recovery is possible, even years after a stroke.
We're setting out to prove that it's the control strategies that optimize human-robotic cooperative learning that make the biggest difference in robotic therapy

The EADV Congress in Amsterdam was a great success! I met and listened to many colleagues presenting exciting and important discoveries that will have a significant impact on our patients. Thank you to everyone for contributing. I was happy to give a "hands-on" talk on cryosurgery for BCCs, a fast and effective treatment when performed in a standardized way. Thanks for inviting me as a speaker!

A 10-year retrospective study published in 2022 evaluated physical mobility implemented during or following the initiation of ECMO.
The results showed that those who received physical rehabilitation and achieved the milestones of sitting on the edge of the bed and walking were more likely to survive than those who did not.

09.23.2024 we release the only ECMO Specialist Patient Mobility Guide created by ECMO Specialists for ECMO Specialists.
Stay tuned!
ECMO can perform the work of the heart and lungs entirely outside the body, keeping people alive when they otherwise would have died. But some physicians worry that the device is creating entirely new ethical conundrums. “ECMO is transforming medical care, saving lives. But it also complicates care when life inevitably begins to end, committing some patients to a liminal state with no hope for recovery,” Clayton Dalton writes. When should it be used, or withheld? And who should decide? Read about how ECMO is transforming palliative care:
