My hot take for this Friday: if you're a recruiter trying to increase billings, you may need to work less to make more. Here's what I mean. At Systematic we've had ebbs and flows where I've worked anywhere from 2 to 20+ job orders at a single time. Guess when I'm most successful? It's when I have the time to do a high quality deep dive on a handful of jobs, really canvassing the talent market, instead of just firing off a decent candidate or two and then going to the next position. I used to think the more I took on, the more I would place.... seems logical right? Well, if you're losing quality it doesn't matter. I'm incredibly lucky to be in an agency where I have management support to hand off job orders or take on more as needed. Because after a couple years I've seen this cycle over and over: --> Recruiter ends up with too many job orders --> They stop making placements --> They hand off some and deep-dive what's left --> Clients and candidates get better service --> Placements come rolling in Work smarter, not harder. Don't forget that quality is the best value proposition you have. #recruiting #placements #hiring #manufacturing

What's the best time a year to look for new jobs? For a majority of industries it's January and February. With fresh budgets in hand, hiring managers swing back into action after the holiday hiatus, unleashing a plethora of new opportunities fueled by companies resolving hiring backlogs. This is the prime opportunity for first round interviews and phone calls to take place. And with many decision-makers in office this time a year, the hiring process is likely to move along quicker. #jobseeking #jobsearchtips #jobsearching #jobsearchingstrategies #hiringsuccess

Specialist recruiter in the Financial Accounting arena, assists companies build Data-Driven teams I DE&I by using value-based behavior assessments | support Strategic Workforce Planning | Career Consult.
BE THE CHANGE - As a specialist recruiter, I recently had a discussion with a connection that made me appreciate the role of a recruiter even more. It's not just about vetting skills and quality; it's about being at the forefront of changing people's lives. As a recruiter, you get to guide individuals on their career progression, caution them against pitfalls, threats and industry bloopers. You get to understand their dreams and be a part of the moment when they achieve them, whether it's career progression, starting over, embarking on a new venture, or seeing success. Being a recruiter means being instrumental in driving customer and candidate satisfaction, and that's why this career has always meant something bigger than myself. I want to take this opportunity to thank all my clients and candidates whom I've had the pleasure of being part of their dreams, ambitions, and goals. Let's continue to change lives and help individuals achieve their dreams together! #recruitersatisfaction #Drakeintl #accountingjobs #charteredaccountants #financialmanagement #hrconsulting #

⚡️CEO of CS Recruiting⚡️| TEDx Speaker 🎤 | 🔎Passionate about helping teams FIND, HIRE & RETAIN Logistics, Transportation & Supply Chain talent|🚶🏻♂️Boy Mom + Yogi🧘🏻♀️|🤝Recruiter by Trade🤝| ❤️Connecter by Heart❤️
Our top recruiter did not “hit the ground running” when she joined our team. In fact, she didn’t have any experience at all when we hired her. She’d never recruited a day in her life. She was fresh out of college and ready to learn. She didn’t know a thing about the Logistics industry. But, she was driven, organized and motivated. She had a good head on her shoulders and was excited about her work. Once she figured out what it took to hit her goals, she stuck to her strategy and consistently crushes it. ❌ Being successful is not about bringing a book of business. 👉 It’s not about bringing proprietary information from a previous role. ✅ Being successful is about having the right attitude. 👉 It's being in a position where your team wants you to succeed. We are all capable of so much more than our resumes will ever show. Everyone starts their career with little experience. That is not a reflection of what they have to offer. ✅ Skills can be learned. ✅ Systems can be trained. ✅ Relationships can be built. 👉 Sometimes, the best hires come with no bad habits. What are your thoughts on hiring people with exact experience vs. hiring people with potential? #hiring #recruiting #potential

Focus on hiring character and train to learn and develop the skills. Many/most people have transferable skills - pay attention to those when hiring. If you only hire people who know your industry and your specific software systems you may loose out on the top talent you are seeking and you end up with a vanilla team rather than a diverse, innovative, creative ones. People thrive on learning and growth.
"The hiring process is broken" For many companies it is sad but true...as a recruiter, my job is more often helping candidates navigate the hiring process than "finding the candidates." I would offer this simple suggestion - We can't be so fixated on "following the rules" that we sacrifice common sense. Just because someone has 4 years experience instead of 5...has an Associates instead of a Bachelors...etc. etc. etc... Does not mean they can't do the job

Partnering with clients across all industries to source top financial talent for their growing teams
A few months ago, a candidate of mine declined an offer and decided to stay with his company. My client, while disappointed, asked me whether the candidate provided any feedback about their talent acquisition process. In that instance, the candidate didn’t provide any feedback to me, but others certainly have. Here are 5 common submissions I have found in the Talent Acquisition Suggestion Box: 1) “Please do not ask me to attend more than one in-person office visit. I can only break away from my office/desk a certain amount of time before my manager stops believing that I am at the dentist again.” 2) “Is asking me to complete an unpaid business case/scenario really necessary to determine whether I am qualified for the role? It seems strange to sign a non-disclosure agreement and then provide consulting services for a real-life business issue you have. If I don’t receive a job offer afterwards, I feel used.” 3) “Part of why I am utilizing an external recruiter is because I don’t enjoy negotiating the terms of an offer. My preference is to have my recruiter serve as a buffer for this part of the process. It is awkward when an unknown HR person contacts me unexpectedly with a verbal offer when I had only been communicating through my recruiter until then.” 4) “If I didn’t receive an offer and/or move forward in the hiring process, it would be great to know why and receive feedback. Anything would be great. I rambled? Didn’t dress appropriately? Offended someone? Even if another candidate had better qualifications/experience. It’s helpful to know why so I can make improvements for next time.” 5) “Summary of Benefits document – I would like to see it before I receive an offer. I understand the confidentiality of the information. However, benefits are an important aspect of any offer I would consider. I would like to review them as early as possible in the process. Also, if no one really follows the 2 weeks PTO listed in the offer, it would be helpful to know that 'I just need to get the work done and no one tracks it anyway.’” #talentacquisition #hiring
