Another interesting read on the richness of the ecosystem in greater Europe! Happy to see that those biotech have been adequately funded to bring them to the next value inflection point. With initial clinical data showing activity, no doubt that multiple partnerships including strategic ones will be be needed to bring more innovative differentiated drugs to patients. Always good to remember at that time that the what we aspire to become, achieve or create is the number 1 question in forging strong alliances!

With #BIO2024 taking place this week in San Diego, the life sciences community closes in on a mid-year check-in point. A time when thousands of the greatest scientific innovators from across the globe come together to take a pulse on the state of the industry, reflect on the first half of the year and predict what lies ahead. As the life sciences community comes together and looks ahead to what's needed to accelerate the development and delivery of modern therapeutics, they must move beyond traditional research spaces and large-scale manufacturing and global distribution centers. Our Director of Research Policy and Advocacy, Leanne Weekes and our Research Manager, Sally Gordon attended The Drug International Association (DIA) conference in San Diego along with thousands of industry representatives, regulators, government officials, academics, innovators, patients and consumers. This year marked the 60th anniversary of DIA and the Global Annual Meeting. This year's theme was 'Charting new horizons,' DIA's President and Global Chief Executive explained this reflects the "need to adjust our mindsets and come together to benefit patients everywhere." DIA is a leading global life science membership association that drives collaboration in drug, device, and diagnostics development in pursuit of a healthier world. The discussions were rich and forward-thinking. Over the next few days we'd like to share some key takeaways under the following themes: 1.    Embracing Risk and Innovation - The need for the biopharmaceutical industry to embrace greater risk to drive breakthroughs was a prominent theme.
