📢 A New Era for U.S. Soccer is on the Horizon! The Soccer Council is excited to announce our intention to become the National Governing Body (NGB) for soccer in the United States, aiming to replace the current U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF). We will be filing a Section 11 application with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) within the year following the upcoming Olympic Games. Why This Change? We’ve identified key areas where the USSF has not met its obligations, resulting in missed opportunities for soccer’s growth and development: Lack of Inclusivity and Accessibility: Current practices have left many communities underserved and excluded from the joy of soccer. We aim to break down barriers and make the sport accessible to everyone, everywhere. Failure to Promote Meritocracy: Financial resources should not overshadow talent. Our focus will be on creating a system where effort and skill are the primary drivers of success, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to shine. Inadequate Representation and Governance: The decision-making processes have lacked transparency and failed to adequately represent all stakeholders. We are committed to a governance model that truly reflects the diverse voices within the soccer community. Missed Opportunities for Growth: Despite soccer’s increasing popularity, the focus has been on elite levels, neglecting grassroots expansion and crucial infrastructure improvements. We will invest in grassroots initiatives to foster soccer’s growth from the ground up. Our Vision for a Brighter Future The Soccer Council is dedicated to addressing these issues and fulfilling the role of NGB more effectively by: Promoting Inclusivity and Accessibility: Implementing nationwide initiatives to ensure soccer is open to everyone, regardless of background or location. Establishing a Merit-Based System: Fostering an environment where talent and hard work are the keys to success, not financial resources. Ensuring Transparent Governance: Creating a governance structure that prioritizes transparency and includes diverse voices from across the soccer community. Driving Sustainable Growth: Investing in grassroots programs and improving soccer infrastructure nationwide to support long-term development. We believe the Soccer Council is uniquely positioned to lead U.S. soccer into a new era of inclusivity, fairness, and growth. Under our leadership, soccer will truly reflect the diversity and dynamism of our nation, becoming a sport for all. 🌟 Stay tuned for more updates and join us in shaping the future of soccer in the U.S.! #SoccerForAll #InclusivityInSports #USSoccer #Meritocracy #GrassrootsSoccer #TransparencyInSports #SoccerCouncil

🔥 Triangle Community: It's Time to Step Up 🔥 First, let me say I love living in the Triangle. It's one of the best decisions my wife and I have made for our family, but I want to tap into my "Jersey" roots for a minute. We all talk about supporting women’s sports, how much we believe in the athletes, the game, and what it means to be a part of history. But the reality? We’re missing our chance to truly Own This Moment. Right here in our backyard, the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is making waves in professional women’s soccer, and it’s time for us as a community to back up the talk with action. Next Friday, we’re not just hosting a game—we’re delivering an epic Star Wars-themed night. From $5 Golden Boot and Lioness Lager beers to galactic cocktails and a post-match party to celebrate our Olympians, this is a FOMO-event. But this isn’t just about Star Wars or soccer. It’s about showing up for something bigger than all of us. Women’s sports are in a historic moment, and we have the privilege to be part of it. So let’s stop saying we support women's sports and start showing we support women's sports. Get your tickets now – up to 40% off gate rates for our friends and family – and make sure you're part of something special. If you believe in the future of women’s sports, if you care about pushing this movement forward, then be there. Own This Moment with us. The news about Reading Women's Football Club pulling out of the Women's Championship is a tough blow for the sport. It's not just a setback for the club and its fans, but for women's football as a whole. Reading's situation shines a light on a big issue: balancing growth with financial stability. While it's amazing to see the sport growing and gaining popularity, it also means we need to ensure clubs are financially stable—a tricky balance. Clubs, Rights Holders and Brands need to work for better financial models and sustainable practices to help the sport thrive. This means securing better funding, sponsorships, and community support. It's sad to see Reading struggle, but it's also a chance for people to tackle these bigger issues by working towards something new and exciting. https://lnkd.in/eyA-qsJJ

In 2024, we are proud to publish the results of the local and regional research done by students of the ZSTIO secondary school in Katowice. Here is the article by Matuesz Margas. The city of Zabrze, after World War II, witnessed the emergence of several sports clubs within a short time. Despite internal rivalries, these clubs faced challenges in establishing a deep-rooted presence in their respective communities. In the post-war Stalinist era, an era marked by battles against established values and traditions, sports clubs were dissolved, making way for new sporting societies. Among the transformations, the creation of Górnik Zabrze in 1948 stands out as a significant chapter in the city’s sporting history. https://lnkd.in/e6kKT33r
