Lockton’s sixth annual survey of over 1,600 U.S. employers helps our clients compare their benefits strategies with those of other employers – providing benchmark data, highlighting trends, and illuminating new ideas. This year’s survey discusses the challenge facing employers: continue to offer competitive benefit programs to attract and retain talent while managing the growing costs. The survey found that as the labor market cools and healthcare costs rise, employers are increasingly prioritizing reducing costs as a factor in making benefit decisions. Yet even as reducing costs is virtually on par with attracting and retaining talent as a priority, the strategies employers are deploying tend to be more conservative.
