We always assume a super fast, high capacity optical backbone when we talk about #mec. What if someone do not have optical fibers all around?! #mec can be a great tool for delivering conventional applications, as well as #5G #B5G #fixed_network high resolution multimedia from the edge! #futurenetasia 2022.

View an insightful on-demand talk by Satoru Matsushima, Technical Meister at SoftBank Group Corp. on “Network Programmability ‘Squared’” delivered as part of the P4 2022 Workshop. The P4 Language and the P4 programmable ASICs represent an important shift in the network programming paradigm. To enable operators to gain a double square of network programmability by leveraging the SRv6 network programming and implementing them using P4 programmable ASIC, we need to clarify what the impact on network architecture and operation, and what the challenges exist in front of the operators. In this presentation, Satori first explains the SRv6 Mobile User Plane (SRv6MUP) network programming model with an emphasis on the impact the model gives to the network architecture and operation in terms of optimization, efficiency and cost saving. 11moGreat to see SoftBank taking such step for the Japanese community. LLMs are fostering the next generation of innovation. Unfortunately most of LLMs are designed for English speakers and without someone taking the lead to bring LLMs to other communities, it can create a technology gap that can impact countries for generations. Happy to see SoftBank taking the leadership role on this.
