Lactic acid 80% has many uses within healthcare, as an industrial ingredient and beyond… but where does it come from? Lactic acid is produced by batch fermentation where a carbohydrate-rich medium is inoculated with lactic acid-producing bacteria such as Lactobacillus. This mixture is kept in a controlled environment to optimise bacterial growth and lactic acid production. Once the desired concentration is achieved, the fermentation is stopped, and the broth is harvested. Don't underestimate the technical properties of food waste. To add extra features to a PVA/Gellan Gum bioplastic, Psidium guajava (guava) leaves, GL, and chickpea, CP, extracts have been added to the PVA/GG (30/70) blend. Water and aqueous ethanol have been used in the extraction of GL and CP, respectively. The addition of the plant’s extracts enhanced the tensile properties of the PVA/GG bioplastic. About 90 days back , marigold flower petals were mixed with jaggery and water in a 1:3:10 ratio . The mixture was let to ferment under anaerobic condition for the last 90 days . The resulting formulation harvested today, rich in active microbes is called bio-enzyme. They have myriad applications . The solution will now be used as 1. Floor cleaning solution. (Chemical free organic alternative) 2. Sprayed to plants as an effective pesticide and fungicide and a source of micro nutrients . 3. The strained solid matter will be put into the toilet and left overnight. It is flushed out in the morning . It is one of the strongest cleaning reagents . Bioenzymes are an effective alternative to Rin and Vim . The chemical washing soaps and detergents are one of the major reasons for the froathing of water bodies and for presence salts and metals in ground water . Great! Rendering biotic components for domestic as well as industrial application can change the world. Unfortunately this could not get enough attention. The main hurdle is its comparison with synthetics. Many times performance of synthetics is higher. The bad side effects are ignored against visible performance. Key focus could be to educate. That precedes composition analysis and its differences from synthetics wrt side effects.
