🚀 Excited to Share My Latest Learning Experience! 🚀 I just completed an insightful course module on the Baobab Platform titled "How to Create a Professional Network." Here are the key steps I learned: 1. Identify Your Goals: Determine what you want to achieve through networking, whether it’s job opportunities, mentorship, or industry insights. 2. Build Your Online Presence: Optimize your LinkedIn profile and other social media to showcase your skills, experiences, and professional interests. 3. Engage with Your Network: Actively participate in discussions, share valuable content, and reach out to others in your field to build meaningful connections. 4. Attend Networking Events: Join industry conferences, webinars, and local meetups to meet professionals face-to-face and expand your network. 5. Follow Up: After meeting someone new, send a personalized follow-up message to maintain the connection and explore potential collaborations. I’m looking forward to making good use of what I have learned! A big shoutout to Mastercard Foundation and Jobberman Nigeria for creating this incredible opportunity for professional growth! Your commitment to empowering individuals through education and networking is truly inspiring. Let’s continue to uplift and support one another in our professional journeys! #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment

Hey everyone! You know I always keep my word—accountability is my thing. My words are my bond. So, here I am, typing this at 12:06 midnight, Nigeria time. My schedule has been so packed, but I made sure to stay up and give you an update. I missed Day 4, but I promised myself that I wouldn’t let you down. So, let’s catch up. Yesterday was a bit confusing and challenging, like being new students trying to find our way around a new school. We were asked to check our emails where our receipts were sent via Selar, the platform we’ll be using to access our courses. At first, I was among those who couldn’t find the email, but after thinking it through, I remembered it was sent with the receipt. I quickly searched for ‘Selar’ in my email, and there it was! To access my course, I had to create an account with Selar. Once I logged in, boom! The course videos and Module 1 were right there. As I read through everything again, the founder’s message really stood out. Edward Essene mentioned, "This is an advanced course, and the workload is a bit hectic," but what hit me most was when he said, "We translate passion into tangible impact." He also described us as Olympic Champions. That got me excited, even though sports aren’t my thing. But being called a champion—now that means a lot to me. I want to be your next champion in the world of development! Module 1 was mostly about introductions and things we need to know to get started. Let me leave you with the 7 Cs: Clarity, Confidence, Competence, Chances, Community, Certificates, and Congratulations. #developmentcommunication #socialchange #media #accountability #harrietijeomah #womeninbusiness

I finally left Nigeria!💃 One of the most exciting tasks during my ALX training is that it gave me the opportunity to travel out of Nigeria without leaving Nigeria. Through Google Slides, I created a detailed travel pack and researched destinations I would love to explore. This task pushed me out of my comfort zone. Although I’ve used tools like Google Slides before, I’ve often worked at a surface level without diving deep. This time, it was different. It was quite tasking, but I took on the challenge with determination. I was able to: • Prepare an engaging and detailed travel itinerary 📅 • Research destinations thoroughly, understanding the essence of planning a trip 💼 • Use Google Slides to create visually appealing presentations that captured all aspects of the trip 🎨 Despite the initial difficulty, I learned how to utilize Google Slides to its fullest potential, beyond just basic presentations. I’m proud of what I accomplished and look forward to applying this knowledge in future tasks. #GoogleSlides #TravelItinerary #VirtualAssistant #ALX #TaskManagement #SkillsGrowth

The opportunity to set my feet outside the shores of Nigeria came like a thief in the night. I was never going to let it slip by. It was in my character to stop by the notice board every morning to check up on what was new. A newsletter inviting listed staff members to indicate their interest in the forthcoming AISA conference 2018(Cape Town) was up. AISA conference is a yearly event where scholars and academicians discuss educational issues affecting Africa and the way forward. Out of amazement,I closed my eyes, opened it wider to read through, the second time.We were seven in number. The HOS office was close by,but rather than going to my class,I stopped by his office to confirm the notice. He affirmed it and gave further information regarding the travel modalities. I was the first to indicate interest by signing a document with the HOS. It wasn't an all expense trip, but was highly subsidised. That day, I didn't go for my usual private practice (PP).I went straight home to check for the documents that were needed to process the trip. Preparation was a smooth ride.We were only meant to provide , our selves a fraction of the fee a few personal documents In less than two weeks of preparation,my colleagues and I were in South Africa for a week long conference. Unfortunately, instead of the seven that were picked, only five embraced the lifetime opportunity. According to them the school was supposed to foot the whole bill considering their dedication and long service. After the trip. my CV became robust promoted to a senior staff became a member of staff training and development . ..…............................................................. It is said that opportunity comes but once. Are you the type that finds it difficult to spend on your personal and professional growth? You need a mindset shift for you not to become redundant and obsolete. Only those who make good use of opportunities keep climbing the ladder of career growth. How do you grab opportunities when you are presented with one? Let's continue at the comment. #opportunities #personalgrowth #mystorymyvoice #21daystorytellingwithdrish

95% (if not more) of Nigerian graduates don't feed from what they studied in school. They don't do anything that has to do with what they studied in school. They crafted another path and career different from what they studied in school. The need for finishing school is a must to help graduates transition seamlessly from what they studied in school into building a noble career in the corporate world. Learning relevant skills is very important regardless of what you studied in school or the grade you graduated with. Most of the interviews for even entry-level have little or nothing to do with what you studied in school but the skills you have to bring value to their organization. Nigeria is not a place where you can be thinking about only what your certificate can offer you. You need to build yourself, learn and develop relevant skills, and build a professional network of value providers. We will all understand it better by and by. I am F. O
