🌍 Exciting Research Article! 📚🔬  🌆 Check out our latest study on "Ambient Air Concentrations and Risk Assessment of Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs)" in five Middle Eastern countries. 🌏 View more: https://lnkd.in/gknpmATR Download: https://lnkd.in/gW5Dxjzp 🔍 In this study, we deployed passive samplers across Kuwait, Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Oman to gather data on OCP concentrations. 📊 The results are in! Highest OCP concentrations were found in Kartaba, Lebanon (7780 pg·m-3), while the lowest was in BUTAL, Turkey (7.27 pg·m-3). Lebanon led the pack with a mean concentration of 1680 pg·m-3, followed by Bursa (Turkey), Oman, Kuwait, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 🤔 Curious about the health impact? 🌊🇲🇦 Exciting News from Morocco! 🇲🇦🌊 On Monday, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurated the Casablanca Seawater Desalination Plant in Commune Lamharza Essahel, El Jadida province. This plant, set to be Africa's largest, will have a significant impact on Morocco's water security. 💧 With an annual production capacity of 300 million cubic meters, this plant will benefit 7.5 million people! 🌟 This initiative reflects the visionary efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to address Morocco's water challenges. 🚰 The project, part of the National Program for Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation 2020-2027, will serve Greater Casablanca, Settat, Berrechid, Bir Jdid, and surrounding areas. Phase one will be operational by 2026, delivering 548,000 cubic meters of treated water per day. The implementation of artificial rain in Lahore has resulted in a noteworthy improvement in the city's Air Quality Index (AQI), presenting a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat persistent smog. In a trial conducted in Lahore, the artificial rain successfully dispersed the prevailing smog that had enveloped the city. This is particularly significant for Lahore, which has consistently ranked among the world's most polluted cities. The trial led to a remarkable drop in the city's AQI from 354 to 189. Formerly holding the dubious distinction of being the sixth most polluted city globally, Lahore experienced a positive shift with the assistance of special aircraft dispatched from the UAE, dispersing 48 flares near Shahdara and Muridke during the initial trial. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the execution of artificial rain at ten different points across Lahore. The technique, known as cloud seeding, involves introducing substances like salt flares into clouds to stimulate the formation of raindrops or snowflakes.
