✍️ Design Guidance for Education Facilities: Prioritization for Advanced Indoor Air Quality, Version 2.0 ✍️ 🛡️Intent and Scope This guidance document is a tool for the design professional and mechanical contractor. It is intended to help guide the discussion with school personnel on options available to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) 🌬️ based on regional needs and available funding as well as to provide guidance to owners, operators 🛠️, designers, and professional service providers on how to best implement IAQ improvements, including risk mitigation strategies, in educational facilities. It will also help facilitate discussion between designers and stakeholders, identify minimum recommendations, and discuss further considerations to improve IAQ and reduce the transmission risk of infectious pathogens and other contaminants of concern. This guide is consistent with other ASHRAE publications and will be updated to align with other standards as they are adopted or updated. This guidance is intended to assist in the retrofit of existing facilities or as a baseline for new facilities. It is not intended to replace or supersede other documents, including, but not limited to, other standards such as ASHRAE Standard 62.1 📚 or the proposed ASHRAE Standard 241. Instead, this guidance is intended to illustrate principles and practical considerations within the existing framework to mitigate risk. HVAC professionals should use this guidance in conjunction with all relevant bylaws, codes, and standards 💼. 🎯 Get Standard and guidance from ASHRAE 🎯 #myashrae #ashrae #HVAC_Standard

I provide online pre recorded trainings for mechanical designers who want to improve themselves, preparing to take PAE or PCE exams.
Learning HVAC in structural manner. The course is expanding with more materials and the complete course is still going for RM800 at a steep discount from original cost of RM1580. Take the opportunity to learn the discipline for cooling and dehumidification application only. The materials come with recordings, slides, spreadsheets and workshops to walk through the spreadsheets that you can review at your own time. Plus, there may be more materials added in the future for no price incurred if you purchase the complete course. Note that this course does not only deal with concept but actual applications in design. So why not take a leap of faith and embark on this journey to learn HVAC. I provide online pre recorded trainings for mechanical designers who want to improve themselves, preparing to take PAE or PCE exams.
In conclusion, learning HVAC is a very structural process and requires a lot of discipline. Understanding of fundamental topics such as heat load calculation, psychrometric chart application, AHU specification, chilled and condenser water design, ACMV control and deployment of BMS cannot be overemphasised. Going about design without the fundamental knowledge would lead to design that does not fit the specific purpose, result in loss of efficiency and worst still a system that does not work, resulting in failure to achieve design condition. Click to register and learn in a structural manner that will improve your competency in design. https://lnkd.in/gTUJ_DYj

HVAC Product Specification Below is the ASHRAE Terminolgy definition of a specification. Is it acceptable for a contractor to attempt to "break the spec" during the bidding phase of a project? If so, how would this officially be done? For what reason(s) would a contractor want to "break the spec"?
