Culture eats strategy for lunch - and Boeing (once again) provides a prime example of how cultural drift, organizational disalignment, and failure to uphold the most basic of standards and discipline can lead to chaos and failure. But this isn't the first time Boeing faced an existential crisis - remember the MAX crashes just a few years ago? Boeing promised change in 2019. The Air Force discovered major production issues with the KC-46. Boeing promised change in early 2023. Those same issues are eerily similar to what we see - again - with Boeing since the January Alaska Airlines blow out. Boeing promised change. But how do you fix potential rot that runs from the C-Suite to the production line? How do you restore confidence across the aviation community? The team is making great progress on the development of the airport master plan to make the former Air Force base part of the FAA National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS). With this designation, the Loring Aerospace Port can play a key role in addressing the growing capacity in the Northeast US aviation system. This opens up great business opportunities in MRO, aircraft manufacturing, air cargo, aerospace research and development, UAS, AAM, and spaceport operations.
