I am constantly amazed that there are still people who believe parental alienation is just a "myth" and is "pseudoscience." Clearly these people have a lot of catching up to do with the advances in scientific research that have been published, much of it since 2016. Introducing Eris v0.1: A novel LLM evaluation framework using debate simulations | Weights & Biases Can you rank LLMs through debate? That's precisely what we're trying to find out. Eris emerged from a fundamental question: How can we evaluate LLMs in a way that simultaneously tests their reasoning, knowledge, and communication skills? Drawing inspiration from academic debates, Eris was designed to pit different LLMs against each other in structured debates on complex topics. Developed with support from OpenRouter and leveraging Weights & Biases' Weave library, Eris is an open-source tool that simulates full debate flows, including constructive speeches, cross-examinations, rebuttals, and closing arguments. 👉 https://lnkd.in/d9k4WSsp #machinelearning

Meri Vikstrom in the HICSS-57 conference, presenting paper “Recombining Operant Resources: Integrating Service Design and Service Engineering to Improve Service Innovation” co-authored with Tuure Tuunanen and Sarah Hönigsberg. Link to the paper in conference proceedings: https://lnkd.in/dqZYci6q Service design and service engineering are being positioned as facilitators for service innovation, yet the research on these fields is siloed. This conceptual paper proposes integrating service design and service engineering through service-dominant logic and suggests potential positive outcomes for service innovation from this integration. Service design and service engineering are framed as interconnected operant resources for service innovation, using service-dominant logic. Based on the framing, this integration facilitates service innovation by recombining service design and service engineering as resources at three different resource levels. The study contributes to the literature by providing a new conceptualization and an integration framework, which can be applied to recombine service design and service engineering as resources, leading to new service innovations. A few days ago, I ran into a new preprint that mentions the GeoDict software. The authors are from Kaist https://lnkd.in/eGF3wYVp and from Oxford University, https://lnkd.in/e-DedAPe. They find fiber lengths, fiber orientations and void distributions and predict the modulus of the composite system with GeoDict. Check out their work https://lnkd.in/e8qRuaw5 to find out more.

Exciting news in the field of publications! Lisa Eckmann has successfully published her second paper from her dissertation together with Jan Landwehr in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied: https://lnkd.in/e2Xr_YvS   Based on experiments and a field dataset, the paper demonstrates that brands benefit when advertised with only one semantic attribute rather than multiple attributes. This is also evident from the "Public Significance Statement" by Lisa and Jan: "This research suggests that pairing only one attribute instead of multiple attributes with a new brand results in the strongest association of the brand with that attribute. If multiple attributes are paired with the brand, brand–attribute associations are stronger if attributes are related than when they are unrelated. Our findings provide practical implications for effective brand image creation." Congratulations on this wonderful publication success! 👏 #brandimage #brandassociations 

Sound workflow nets are process models with highly desirable qualities. While process trees discovered by approaches such as the inductive miner have these properties, they represent a subset of all sound workflow nets (the so-called block-structured workflow nets). In the new paper "Fast & Sound: Accelerating Synthesis-Rules-Based Process Discovery" accepted at the EMMSAD conference, we show an efficient method to perform process discovery and obtain non-block-structured workflow nets.
