Thanks for all the ideas! We created Fielday's Survival Kits for our customers, to open when they’re running low on steam.
It was fun and really rewarding to hear about and see some of the results of our work.
We talked to six customers who've worked with us in the last 12 months, and here are a few of the highlights:
- Landing a lucrative contract with one of the competitive big-box companies. They don’t believe they’d have got a look-in without our help moving them beyond being seen as 'just' a product supplier.
- Before annual strategic planning, using our work as a key tool, a company held 'shake the can' sessions to solve several small but persistent issues uncovered that were causing rifts between departments. Often exec teams focus on the big picture, but they saw the value in addressing smaller issues which can significantly improve staff satisfaction and productivity.
- An exec team still belly-laughs about our final 'Guts' workshop (as do we). We tackled tough feedback in great spirits together which they proactively addressed. This has been especially important given the changing market conditions.
- We got to see stunning new educational material created as part of a change in positioning after a company learned they were coming across as too salesy. Their products are still promoted but in a way that provides value, elevates the perception of the company's expertise, and builds relationships.
Very cool!
We took the opportunity to say hi to businesses we pitched to but were unsuccessful with, and those we’ve been referred to informally but hadn't connected with in person.
AND we were gifted three new contacts at companies they believe would benefit from our work.
It was a very impromptu visit and both Chantelle and my first times at the Fieldays. We went in with no expectations other than to connect with and support our customers, and we left feeling excited and buoyed.
One little disappointment though, Chantelle had been told there were lots of animals at Fieldays. There isn't. 🐷🐮🐴
And we forgot where we parked the car so had to walk quite a way on tired feet to find it.
Overall satisfaction / time well spent: 10/10
And thanks Linkedin, as it’s through popping on here regularly for this 26 week challenge that I realised how many of our customers were there! #fieldays
