Did you know about National Brother's Day? It's a day to celebrate and let your brother, or someone in your life that you share that brotherly bond with, know how much you care about them. We know growing up with brothers can be trying at times, but we love them anyways! If you've never celebrated your brother, here are a few fun ideas you can do together to make the day memorable. • Invite your brother/s out to dinner, or you can even cook a favorite family recipe together. • If you don't live close to your brother/s, send a card celebrating the things you love about him – throw in a gift card toward his favorite video game or restaurant. • Spend the day together! Arrange a fun day doing things he loves. • Throw a surprise party! Invite family and friends and decorate with your brother's favorite colors and have his favorite food. • Handwrite a letter sharing fun stories and your appreciation for him. • Make a photobook of shared moments together for him to keep. • Organize a game night in his honor, play his favorite game and share his favorite snacks with your friends and family. • Support his hobby. Is there something passionate that your brother loves to do? Spend time learning about it with him, get him supplies, or work on it side-by-side. Celebrate your brother today!

For Valentine’s Day we got our kids Wendy’s gift cards. I love this as a gift because we get to do a night out with them, but also I make them order for themselves and the only rule is they can’t spend more money than what’s on the gift card. They always get nervous and ask, “Dad, can you order for me?” but I make them do it and it helps teach them so many basic skills: 1. How to talk to people (specifically adults) 2. How to be polite and use manners 3. How to speak clearly and loud enough 4. How to look people in the eyes 5. How to order food (very important) 6. How to read a menu 7. How to make decisions 8. How to do basic math 9. How to use a credit card machine 10. How to eat in public (they’re so bad at this lol) The more they do these things while at home the better they’ll be after they leave the nest. Did I miss anything?

The importance of recognizing achievement. At the end of every month we tally up the attendance of our members. If a member attends 16 or more classes in that month they're put in a drawing for a prize. Usually a gift card, massage or cash. If that member attends 16+ classes three months in a row we get them a custom tee. We use this to signify their devotion to their fitness and overall health. It's so important to address those who are putting in the consistent work. Showing up when they don't want to. Being present when they want to be on the couch. Consistency over everything. Celebrate wins. Express gratitude.
