Islam is the fastest growing religion. There are more than two billion of us in every country in the world. But it all started right here in Saudi Arabia, on top of this exact mountain in a cave. There it is. This is where Islam started, in a cave that looks something like this. Islam was revealed to Prophet Muhammad by an Angel while he was sitting in The Cave. The Angel said the first word in Islam read. Read is what God told Muslims to do. Read the Koran. Read to understand, read to discover. And so I read about Islam and the first thing I learned is discipline. Very few people know this, but Islam is the religion of discipline. Every day, every morning for 30 years, I saw my mother wake up at 5:00 AM. No matter how tired or sick or busy she was, she woke up before the sun to pray to God. And she's not the only one. Billions of Muslims pray five times a day, every day, for their. The entire life. This level of discipline does not exist anywhere else. And here's another one. Before every prayer, Muslims have to be clean by washing their feet, hands and head multiple times a day. Muslims are not just committed to God, they are committed to cleanliness. According to Prophet Muhammad, Cleanliness. Is half the faith in the mammal art Al Malaika? Navy here just like just mean Dina who didn't know when of office. Muslims are also committed to fasting. Every year Muslims fast for one month. We don't eat anything or drink anything from sunrise until sunset. My family and I would fast every year and I'm telling you, it's hard, especially when it's hot outside. Yet billions of Muslims commit to it. In fact, some Muslims are so committed that they memorize the entire Quran word for word, the entire book. Did you memorize every single word? I didn't, but my wife did. And all of her family members and all of her friends, 100% she memorized all of it. Come on. You better put it on. Yeah. Tomorrow. Consistency, commitment, discipline, these are the same qualities they teach you at Harvard Business School and their front and center in Islam's Prophet Muhammad famously said the most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent even if they are small. Many people ask me how did you make 1000 videos in 1000 days or how do you never miss a gym? Or Monday meeting. And I think the answer comes from here. My discipline and commitment comes from Islam. It's nothing special about me. It's part of the religion. If my mom can pray every day for 30 years, five times a day and commit to fasting and cleanliness, then I can make a one minute video and I can go to the gym. She's the best Muslim miner. She doesn't hate anybody. She loves her religion, She loves other religions. It's incredible. And. The second thing I learned in Islam is even more powerful, and I learned it right here at a Barber shop in Mecca. It's. Equality, equality, equality. Every year Muslims from around the world come to Mecca to perform pilgrimage, and here we are all equal in front of God. We get rid of materialistic accessories, we get rid of our fancy clothes and go from this to this. Beware only two white sheets, the clothes all Muslims wear when they are buried, and men, they shave their entire head to cleanse ourselves from all sin. Wow, this is such a great feeling. I've never felt happier at a barbershop. Seriously, this is awesome. We remove all social differences between us. We look the same because in front of God we are the same. Let me show you something. This is my hair, this is his hair, this is his hair, his hair, his hair, his hair, his hair and his hair. They're all have the same haircut. No one cares if you're a CEO or a security guard. No one cares if you're American or Pakistani or German. No one cares if you're white or black. No one cares if you're rich or poor. Prophet Muhammad said no one is superior to black and no black is superior to white. None have superiority over another except by. Piety and good action Action. Look at how many people are there. All doing the same thing from 100 countries. In Mecca I circled around the Kaaba, the House of God built by Prophet Abraham, and I ran across the mountains, Suffer and Marwah. I drank the holy Zamzam water, so delicious, and read the Koran. I felt a connection to people I never would have met. I felt. We were all the same. There is no difference between anybody here. This is uniformity, discipline, along with, you know, this grandma of this amazing place. It's just larger than the life. Thank you for the water. Thank you, the Islam I saw here and the Islam I saw in my mother for 30 years is truly beautiful and I wish everyone can see it too. I've had that chair, yeah. Islam. Who? By that Tamuli, Walla Cottrell. Mohabi, Walter. Warhammer, Bashar Al Hajar. Shajar. You can't hide. You don't have to be Muslim to learn from Islam. You can be inspired by my mom and try to be disciplined at the gym. You can be inspired by the thousands of Muslims and see everyone as equal in your country. The world would be so much better if we have more disciplined equality and unity.
Patience is key to success
Patience is really the most important trait of all the good character we see in the Quran.
Impatience is and has always been the gateway to sin.
➡️ Patience gives you as an entrepreneur the backbone that separates the successful from the failures.
If you have patience, you will keep going where others have given up.
➡️ Study any successful person and you will see their patience in the background.
This leads to perseverance and success.
I know of three persons who is patient all the time and i have not or heard from their family members or friends of their impatience.
The three people are
1) My late Father-in-law (He was a Kiyai in Indonesia)
2) Brother-in-law
3) My good friend sincerely wants to help people, regardless of their background, to find the truth in Islam.
I'm blessed to experience and observe them.
✅ In the Qur'an, the word for success that Allah uses is aflaha, which means success after a long period of time.

🌟 Organizational Politics in Islamic Institutions 🌟
Even in Islamic institutions, politics can arise, but Islam provides clear principles to guide us:
🔸 Shura (Consultation): Promote transparency through mutual consultation.
🔸 Adl (Justice): Lead with fairness to avoid favoritism.
🔸 Amanah (Trust): Be accountable to Allah and others.
🔸 Ikhlas (Sincerity): Work for Allah’s sake, not personal gain.
🔸 Avoid Gheebah (Backbiting): Prevent harmful speech and slander.
By following these values, we can create more ethical and just organizations! 🤝✨ #IslamicEthics#Leadership#Justice

In The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History, author Michael H. Hart ranks Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the last Prophet of Islam, as the most influential person in history. For Muslims, this recognition, particularly during the blessed occasion of 12 Rabi ul Awal—the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)—resonates deeply. Hart's acknowledgment reflects the undeniable and lasting impact that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has had on both the spiritual and worldly aspects of life.
Hart emphasizes that unlike any other historical figure, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) succeeded not only in spreading the message of Islam but also in establishing a comprehensive social, legal, and political system. His leadership brought about unprecedented unity among the Arabian tribes, fostering peace, justice, and compassion in a once fractured society. His life serves as an unparalleled example of humility, patience, and wisdom, transforming the moral and social fabric of the world.
The Prophet’s (PBUH) message of monotheism, mercy, and equality transcended regional boundaries, eventually laying the foundation for one of the greatest civilizations in history. Hart recognizes that Muhammad (PBUH) is the only figure who was supremely successful in both religious and secular domains, shaping a vast Islamic empire that spread rapidly across continents. His teachings continue to guide billions of Muslims around the globe today.
On this auspicious occasion of 12 Rabi ul Awal, it is essential to reflect on the life, character, and accomplishments of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His legacy of kindness, justice, and devotion to the welfare of humanity serves as a timeless inspiration for Muslims and for all of humanity.

When you are doing your organisation's strategic plan, the desired goal of an organisation must be feasible.
➡️ The achievements of the general goals of Muslims are within their reach.
➡️ The Qur'an clearly states that people are only commanded to do what is within their capacity and that Allah does not place on people a burden that they cannot bear.
"Allah does not charge a soul except[with that within] its capacity.." Qur'an 2:286
It would not make sense to refer to Islam as a religion of mercy if it required people to be over-burdened in order to comply with Allah's commands.
If the Creator does not require from His creatures what is beyond their capability, organisations pursuing their objectives of pleasing Allah should not ask their employees to perform tasks that are beyond them.
✅ For Muslims, we need to know that a set of default values, the natural inclination by Allah in all humans, which predisposes a child to be a Muslim.
In fact, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) indicated that every baby is born a Muslim.
✅ Allah has sent His revelation to provide guidance to humankind and assist them in their natural inclination.
✅ Allah gives people senses and the faculty of intellect; this makes them capable of acquiring knowledge and skills.
This acquisition of skills ensures job feasibility.
✅ As human beings are vicegerents of Allah on earth, Allah has provided them with the necessary resources by making everything on earth subservient to them.
✅ With intellect and the whole earth to them, they have the necessary resources to perform their duty in the strategic plan.
✅ Students of Islam can pursue feasible goals with skills and resources.
Pursuing unfeasible goals is considered to be a waste of the resources that Allah has given us.

Why are long-term objectives or vision important to Muslim organisations?
➡️ The teachings of Islam emphasise long-term orientation and the achievement of long-term objectives, as opposed to any intermediate goals.
The real success, expressed in the expressed in the teachings of Islam, shall be the farthest possible in time whether in the hereafter or in the world.
➡️Immediate achievements do not help if the end result is a failure.
In fact, in many cases, immediate gains result in long-term losses.
The Qur'an has strongly stressed the end results both in this world and in the hereafter.
✅ Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Deeds are based upon the ends." Narrated by Bukhari
✅ The hadith simply means that success is only relevant when it is long-term and end result.
The vision and objectives of Muslim organisations should be consistent with the vision of Muslims, which is entering paradise.

💚I conduct Board Conversations to guide boards on how to start their Governance Journey
#muslims#islam#muslimcommunity#muslimsociety#muslimbusiness
When Allah ordered Muslims to form a group or an organisation, He specified the purpose of the organisation, which was:
➡️ Inviting towards good
➡️ Enjoining Right
➡️ Forbidding Evil
Allah has mentioned this in the Qur'an:
"And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong..." Qur'an 3:104
Therefore, organisations should have proper plans to achieve their goals and objectives.
These plans will need to have internal processes, controls and authority relationships.
➡️ The real foundation for any organisation is culture.
➡️ In Muslim institutions, the Board of Directors of enterprises and Board members of nonprofits will need to start the culture of Tawheed (Belief in the Oneness of Allah).
➡️ This component, the unity of God, is the essence of culture that starts in the boardroom.
To have this Tawheed culture, the board members must have integrity and character.
Integrity of character is the core of the integrity of the boardroom.
Without it, we risk collapse.
There the very first step is to make the character a central part of your director search process.
In the two-hour Board Conversation: Integrity in Boards for Muslim Institutions, we will have a conversation and share:
✅ Tips on how to search for board members that fit the Integrity of Character
✅ What can you do to help ensure there is a healthy balance of power in the boardroom
✅ How do you make sure that the governance structure has integrity?
✅ What is needed to be done by board members for a governance system to work effectively
✅ What can a board do when relationships in the boardroom are strained?
Drop me a message titled " Tawheed " to have this Board conversation for your board.

Chapter 15.
Dark Times in Muslim History:
After Ali A.S., the Muslim community faced a period of division, hate, injustice, and dark times. Here's a brief overview:
_Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan (661-680 CE):_
- Established the Umayyad dynasty, marking the beginning of dynastic rule
- Faced opposition from Ali's supporters, leading to the First Fitna (civil war)
- Introduced hereditary succession, contrary to Islamic principles
_Yazid ibn Muawiyah (680-683 CE):_
- Succeeded his father, facing widespread opposition
- Ordered the massacre of Karbala, killing Husayn ibn Ali A.S. and his family
- Sparked the Second Fitna, leading to further division and bloodshed
_Umayyad Dynasty (661-750 CE):_
- Characterized by tyranny, corruption, and oppression
Saw the rise of various rebellions and movements, including the Abbasid Revolution
_Abbasid Dynasty (750-1258 CE):_
- Overthrew the Umayyads, promising a return to Islamic principles
- Initially saw a golden age of culture, science, and philosophy
- Gradually declined into corruption, division, and weakness
_Dark Times:_
Saw the rise of sectarianism, extremism, and fanaticism
Witnessed the Crusades, Mongol invasions, and other external threats
- Experienced internal conflicts, power struggles, and corruption
This period marked a significant departure from the ideals of unity, justice, and compassion established by Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companions. The Muslim community faced numerous challenges, and the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties struggled to maintain power and legitimate.

Is Islamic Shari'ah is open to growth and development?
➡️ The great truth is that this fixed basis on which Islamic Shari'ah is founded is flexible and is more able to respond to the needs of new development in human life than all the systems that mankind has invented.
The Islamic Shari'ah that shaped Muslim society has many features that enabled Muslim society to grow and develop and meet the ever-changing needs of mankind.
Some of the important features are:
✅ It is in accordance with the basic features of human nature because it was created by Allah, Who knows the nature of His creation and what is best suited to this nature.
✅ It came in the form of universal holistic principles, which can be implemented in detail in regard to ever-occurring minor issues and changing circumstances.
For example, Zakah is a fixed and clearly defined obligation, but the means of collecting it, calculating it and distributing it to those who are entitled to receive it are all things that are open to development in a manner that suits the time and when it is collected, and that best serve the interests of the poor.
