How Does Pigging Work? The process involves introducing a pig into the pipeline and pushing it through the pipe. Pigs can be introduced manually or, more commonly, automatically. Pig launchers and pig receivers facilitate the introduction, housing, and return of pigs. After pigging, the liquid can either be collected or continue being processed

Safe pigging operations require the pig to be at least 1.5 to 2 times longer than the pipes nominal size. This prevents the pig from rolling.

SLUG CATCHER / INLET SEPARATOR - MUELLER MODEL KLS-1BSC Mueller Environmental has developed various ways to remove large liquid volumes from pipelines without the need for additional downstream separation while also accommodating footprint restrictions. Our KLS-1BSC submarine configuration is a highly versatile design available in a wide range of sizes enabling storage volumes up to 20,000 gallons per unit (96" ID x 50' L). It can be configured with appropriate ladders and platforms, and like all Mueller equipment is designed to meet the unique specifications of each installation. All Mueller KLS separators utilize the Helical Coil Technology, giving every design the same level of high efficiency separation and protection for downstream equipment. The popular KLS series is known for its reliability. In hundreds of installations in all conditions spanning over two decades of service, no KLS unit has ever failed. KLS slug catchers can also be used in tandem with the Mueller Mist Elimination Waste Tank vessels to allow even faster dumping vessels to allow even faster dumping. ✔ KLS SLUG CATCHER ADVANTAGES • Highly versatile, accommodating a wide range of liquid volumes • Eliminates need for additional downstream separation • Significantly reduces maintenance costs (no replacement filters or moving parts) • Proven to handle heavy liquid loads while maintaining high separation efficiency • Significantly increases throughput (no downtime for filter changes) • Exceptional track record: No KLS has ever failed #MuellerEnvironmentalDesigns #ProvenUnderPressure #BuiltToLast #MUELLERmodel #EngineeredToPerform #PatentedTechnology

Let’s talk about the importance of timing… We called in to a customer today and was asked to meet them on site as they had a leak on a 6” pvc pipe. Needless to say it was a great opportunity to discuss Badger Meter NRW solutions, including District Meter Area (DMA) management and our Syrinix solutions to locate leaks remotely. #water #watermanagement #waterindustry #waterconservation #waterinfrastructure #waterdistribution #waterinnovation #leakdetection #leakage #leaks #leaksensor #pressuremanagement #pressuremeasurement #nrwprogram #flowmeter #flowmonitoring #flowmeasurement #worksmart #proactivemaintenance

#pipeline_cleaning_by_pigs: Pipeline cleaning is a critical aspect of maintaining the efficiency and longevity of industrial pipelines. Over time, sediment, rust, and other contaminants can build up inside the pipeline, leading to reduced flow rates, increased energy consumption, and even system failures. This is where cleaning pigs come into play. These specialized devices are inserted into the pipeline and propelled by the flow of the product to scrape or brush away debris, ensuring optimal performance. #Top_5_Cleaning_Pigs_for_Effective_Pipeline_Maintenance: 1. Cup Pipeline Pigs. 2. Disc Pipeline pigs. 3. Solid Cast Pipeline Pig. 4. Polly Foam Pig. 5. Criss Cross Foam Pig with Brushes. Let's talk about their properties another time.
