»2021 felt like a gold rush for UX roles, but now, it’s a whole new game.« 🎙️I recently sat down with Katrin Suetterlin for an upcoming episode of UX Heroes to discuss the evolving UX job market. Here’s a glimpse into her journey: Katrin’s career took off during the UX boom of 2021. She received 20 interview invitations within weeks, an experience that left her exhilarated but also exhausted. During this time, she joined WeFox, where she was the sole UX writer, working closely with the CMO and project managers. It was a dynamic, fast-paced environment typical of a Berlin startup. However, the tides soon changed… The funding dried up, and the company had to downsize, leaving Katrin and many others looking for new opportunities. Suddenly, the job market wasn’t as welcoming. The demand for UX roles had decreased, and competition was fiercer than ever. Determined to stay ahead, Katrin embraced versatility and was ocusing on delivering measurable business value. This adaptability led her to a new role at SIXT, where she now works on integrating UX strategies with business goals, ensuring her work has a tangible impact. Stay tuned for the full episode to hear more about her insights and tips for thriving in today’s UX landscape. #UXDesign #JobMarket #CareerAdvice #Adaptability #AIInUX #EmpathyInDesign #UXHeroes

I help PwDR measure and maximize user research impact | Founder @ User Research Strategist + UXR for Product People
Wanna play a game? As a UXR, I’ve played many games before. What do I mean by that? Well, I try my best to make user research fun for my stakeholders and colleagues so, whenever there might be a chance for a game (that doesn’t negate or minimize the value of the research or take away from the findings), I might play it. Some of these games include: - Usability bingo - Internal hackathons - Pin the pain point on the persona - UXR escape room (escape the impossible, inefficient tasks) - Insight auction Or I might play in other ways like: - Having a UXR leadership dashboard that shows the most engaged stakeholders - Stakeholder shout-outs - Impact sharing sessions About every quarter, I give away prizes for leadership dashboards and have parties for the most engaged stakeholders. There are a lot of fun ways to get people engaged and interested in work — not that you HAVE to but it can also help spark some creativity and fun for you. What are some fun ways you engage with stakeholders? #userresearch #research #ux #uxr #uxresearcher #uxresearch #designresearch #userresearcher #careers

UX Leader + Consultant | Global Team Leader | Certified Coach | Facilitator - I develop great people who develop great products.
Networking is fun. Right? But it is! One thing I am so grateful for in my work is getting to meet amazing humans with all sorts of talents and interests. For example... 👀 Meet Jess Davies! She's a straight shooter, a no-nonsense leader and strategist, adept at doing what it takes from the highest level of strategy to the hands-on details. She's built several research practices from the ground up, and she's looking for an opportunity to evolve UX Research in an early-stage or start up environment. She's done many things, but she'd love to find something in Real Estate. #neversearchalone #uxr #uxcareers
