My HackBio internship has been a valuable experience, teaching me important lessons about research and leadership. First, attention to detail: small mistakes can have significant consequences. I've learned to double-check my work and strive for accuracy in my tasks and when carrying out any instructions. Paying absolute attention to detail is one thing we can't joke with as researchers. Second, going the extra mile where doing your best is concerned: DAD would always say “you get rewarded for doing the extra and not the norm”. I've actively sought out new learning opportunities, even when they were outside my comfort zone. This has expanded my knowledge and skills and helped me deliver high-quality work. Third, effective leadership involves taking responsibility and addressing issues promptly. I learned this firsthand when a mistake on my part delayed my team member's promotion. By apologizing sincerely and taking immediate action to resolve the issue, I was able to maintain trust and strengthen my leadership skills. I'm grateful for the opportunity to intern at HackBio and for the valuable lessons I've learned. I can wait to see the result of so much more I would have learned and gained at the end of this internship. #internship #hackbio #research #leadership #personalgrowth
