A member of the 2023 ABGLP batch reflects on her journey with gratitude as she recounts her internship experience with the Group Innovation Cell. Her role involved identifying, evaluating, and recommending startups with the potential for strategic partnerships, a task she embraced with enthusiasm and dedication: Some of the invaluable lessons that I learned along the way were: • 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧: I encountered multiple instances where I found myself going out of my comfort zone. These ended up being the most pivotal ones that allowed me to discover new strengths and capabilities I never knew I had. Please meet Gabrielle Yanitelli, Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management student at Quinnipiac University - School of Business. Gabrielle’s internship journey at the #CentralEuropeanInstitute’s #Student #Consulting #Project, has been immersed in strategic initiatives, especially in collaboration with La Planti. She's been diving deep into market research and exploring ways to refine cannabinoid production techniques, all geared towards making an impact on industry progress. “During my internship, I've been deeply engaged in strategic initiatives with our team, particularly focusing on our collaboration with La Planti. Our primary objective revolved around conducting extensive Market Research and utilizing various Industry Databases. Through these efforts, we've meticulously analyzed market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor landscapes. This has empowered us to provide insightful recommendations regarding the optimal steps and locations for La Planti to invest in expanding their business. Moreover, we've recently commenced research into enhancing operational efficiency, specifically exploring Refinement Techniques for cannabinoid production. Our investigations have delved into critical areas such as Isolation/Crystallization Reactors, Wiped Film Distillation, and Preparative Chromatography. Additionally, we're exploring Isomer Conversion Technologies, particularly focusing on the scalability and efficiency of producing CBN from CBD isolate or distillate. We hope our findings and recommendations are poised to have a significant impact on La Planti's business trajectory, enabling the company to make informed decisions, streamline operations, and capitalize on emerging opportunities within the industry. As I conclude my internship at dott.gallina s.r.l. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues for their guidance and support throughout this journey. During my time here, I've gained valuable experience, learned new skills, and forged meaningful connections. I'm excited to take the lessons learned and apply them as I embark on the next chapter of my career. Additionally, I'm excited to share a sustainability initiative I've developed. The project focuses on utilizing pre-consumer polycarbonate scraps by reintroducing them into the production process. We are excited to introduce our new business development intern, Thomas Calcagno. In his own words, Thomas shares his experience and excitement about joining our team: "I am a MSc Finance student from Imperial with previous working experience in investment banking. In the last few months, I've developed an interest in entrepreneurship and the challenges that early-stage startups need to overcome to find product-market fit. This curiosity is what led me to apply for an internship at an early-stage startup. Vox Aeris has particularly stood out to me for two main reasons. First, the internship entails that I would have significant responsibilities in a broad range of critical areas, ranging from customer discovery to go-to-market strategy. The benefit of having these responsibilities is that I'm sure I'll learn invaluable skills and knowledge while also having a meaningful impact. Lastly, I'm looking forward to working alongside a brilliant and visionary founder, Selene, on the mission of Vox Aeris. Indoor air pollution poses a significant problem by causing the deaths of millions of people each year. Current air purification solutions are poorly suited to solve this issue due to their high operational costs and energy intensity. Our mission at Vox Aeris is to develop innovative air purification technology that will set new standards for clean indoor air and energy efficiency, and I'm excited to play my part in it!" Hello all! Climate Ninja Update🥷🏽 As a part of the Climate Ninja Program, I participated in a session on the water recycling story, by Clima Sensei Vikas Brahmavar, the Director of Trans Water System Private Limited The session focused on the importance of water recycling and discussed the various methods to do that. It was a very insightful session and I learnt new things about the ground realities related to how fast water is depleting. It raised awareness about why we must reuse water and how boson whitewater helps in doing that. My HackBio internship has been a valuable experience, teaching me important lessons about research and leadership. First, attention to detail: small mistakes can have significant consequences. I've learned to double-check my work and strive for accuracy in my tasks and when carrying out any instructions. Paying absolute attention to detail is one thing we can't joke with as researchers. Second, going the extra mile where doing your best is concerned: DAD would always say “you get rewarded for doing the extra and not the norm”. I've actively sought out new learning opportunities, even when they were outside my comfort zone. This has expanded my knowledge and skills and helped me deliver high-quality work. Third, effective leadership involves taking responsibility and addressing issues promptly. I learned this firsthand when a mistake on my part delayed my team member's promotion. By apologizing sincerely and taking immediate action to resolve the issue, I was able to maintain trust and strengthen my leadership skills. I'm grateful for the opportunity to intern at HackBio and for the valuable lessons I've learned. I can wait to see the result of so much more I would have learned and gained at the end of this internship. #internship #hackbio #research #leadership #personalgrowth
