Here's the thing: When I started having open conversations with my parents ... 👉🏼 I THOUGHT I was patient and loving. 👉🏼 I THOUGHT it was my parents' who were being defensive and not listening. But when I went back to the recordings of our conversations my jaw dropped. I heard my tone. I realized that I was the one that was being defensive. I was the one being closed off. So how are you REALLY talking to your parents? If you want to be sure, record your conversations. Then consider: How do you want your kids to talk to you one day? Talk to your parents like that.
