Hiring managers! A couple of questions for all HM's from any domain here really.... I've been working with a superb young Penetration tester looking for her next career move. Her motivators are clear, more progressive work into offensive test. Ideally a company to support her growth across accreditations ect. 📈 Many clients like the look of her CV, but feel she's still a touch to green to hire just now. ▶ What is the right level of experience to take on a "junior"? ▶ Would you be more confident to take a risk if the market was more buoyant? ▶ Can there ever be a right amount of experience? Speaking from personal experience, i've seen plenty of experienced people who were due to paint the streets with gold in recruitment who have been underwhelming, on the flipside i've seen trainee's who someone's taken a punt on become superstars. Something I ask myself when looking at organizations that help or support veterans is "Whats the main thing?" This is a clarifying statement and can be validated through actions and behaviors. As an organization what I saw as a transitioning service member from Vets2PM was that their main thing was simply helping vets land a lucrative and rewarding post service career through established frameworks and practices (TTP's). This is why I am proud to work with our team now that I transitioned out.
