#conference 📣Annual Scientific Conference celebrating 68th Anniversary of The Institute of Transport Science and Technology 🔰On October 4th, 2024 in Hanoi, the Institute of Transport Science and Technology (ITST) held an annual scientific conference to celebrate its 68th anniversary, in line with the general trend of developing sustainable technologies, materials to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. ✨The ceremony attracted state management agencies, scientists, experts, and business representatives. 🚀 At this conference, Asphalt Distribution Company Limited was a sponsor, impressing guests with the drilled asphalt concrete sample at runway No. 3 - Bangkok International Airport, Thailand, constructed by its parent group TIPCO and Colas. The asphalt concrete sample is 43 cm long, including all structural layers. Specifically, hard bitumen is used for a 33-cm thick base course and a 5-cm thick binder course. The 5cm wearing course is designed as a gap-grade mix using Colflex® PMB PG76. This structure provides high elastic modulus, good bonding, rutting resistance, and high shear strength when aircraft take off and land while still ensuring safety factors, roughness, and high friction to meet ICAO standards. 👉Read more: https://lnkd.in/gkmySPKn 🏆ADCo Company is proud to be a pioneer in providing high-quality products, contributing to the sustainable development of the transportation industry in particular and the country in general. Something exciting that few of us saw coming is the development, all around Asia and Europe, of light rail and even high-speed trains in Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), biocomposites and other biobased materials. It doesn’t just give them a cool look (it does that too); it means lighter trains with better energy efficiency and superior thermal and acoustic insulation to keep passengers comfortable, while the strength and flexibility of CLT handle high-speed vibrations with ease. Plus, prefabrication speeds up construction and ensures top-notch quality, while future upgrades and recycling are facilitated. And of course, wood interiors create a warm, inviting space, making journeys more enjoyable and less stressful. An important additional benefit: these various types of biobased materials can store tons of carbon per train, bringing carbon negative transportation into view. Any railroad museum will show you that trains partly made of biological materials go back as far as the history of trains themselves. And up until the 60s and 70s, groundbreaking experiments were conducted- I’ve found some great archive images from those days. However, some of those ideas were ahead of their time. Recent technological innovations have finally made them viable, heralding a new era of biobased train designs. P.S. 😜 #MagnificAI #Midjourney #AIxDesign #SustainableTransport #HighSpeedTrains #BiobasedMaterials #CLT #Innovation #GreenTech #Sustainability

No need for spare parts? 💡 Composites are exceptionally durable, as proven by the glass fiber train profiles we supplied to Bombardier Talent 1 trains in the late '90s in collaboration with Techno-Composites Domine GmbH. 🚆 Many of these trains still operate with the original panels, looking as good as new. The longevity and easy repairability of glass fiber reinforced profiles significantly reduce the need for spare parts. Check out the engaging interview with Gerrit Mann from Techno-Composites and Eric Moussiaux from Exel, where they discuss the history of this project and the remarkable advantages of GRP (glass reinforced plastic) components, such as sustainability and cost-effectiveness. #RailIndustry #Talent1 #RailTechnology #BombardierTalent1 #LightweightTrain #Composites #CompositeMaterials #Pultrusion
