Great Story Told by Safety National's Tammy Daniels Last Night at The DWC Event in LA Subtitle: Knowing Your Why As a former claims consultant, one of Tammy's more difficult cases was a woman who lost her right leg from the hip down and degloved on her right leg (knee to ankle) after being dragged by a semi-truck with two trailers. Her role was to assess the driver's and truck's safety before the driver left the yard. The driver pulled out before she completed her safety checks. She had a very challenging recovery with multiple surgeries. Paradigm (complex case management) significantly contributed to her successful care and recovery. This is an example where an adjuster, an outside support vendor, and a passionate broker help achieve incredible outcomes. This woman's resilience, spirit, and incredible mindset impressed me most as I listened intently to the story. But it made sense as Tammy completed the story. This woman had a greater purpose. She was acutely aware of her Northstar. She also cared for her very disabled husband every day. He was dependent on the care of his devoted wife. Recovery was her only option. Examples of Purpose: - Community causes and service: Perhaps you feel called to help at-risk kids -Career purpose: You are driven to reduce work-related construction injuries and fatal accidents or want to help under-served employers thrive. -Health and wellness: You want to overcome a health challenge and be there for your family. -Recruitment: You feel compelled to draw in the next generation of construction or insurance professionals as part of your career legacy and leave your industry in a better position to thrive. If it’s not, we will help them communicate what this means to their actively at work, Medicare eligible population.
