What makes people's creative process so intriguing? (sketches, behind-the-scenes, time lapse videos, etc) For me, I love seeing how people's brains work and how they make their vision come to life. It's inspiring and helpful to see how something goes from ideation to final product. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes and when we get to see behind the curtain it honestly makes things even more magical. Whose work do you follow to see their process? Share in the comments! Image: Here's my sketch to final illustration from a collaborative poster project I worked on in 2020. Different artists created the same image in their own style using the same palette.

Chroma 0162 - In Which The Author Talks About Making Standout Reels Navigating the competitive landscape of the Visual Effects Industry as a junior artist can be daunting. Yet, the key to unlocking opportunities lie in the quality and presentation of your demo reel. A tight, professionally crafted demo reel can speak volumes about your capabilities. You don't need to showcase a vast number of shots; even six well-executed shots with thorough breakdowns can set you apart from the crowd of juniors. These pieces should convey a clear understanding of the entire process and showcase a polished, professional approach. The journey to a standout reel involves extensive refinement. Through hundreds of iterations and reviews from multiple perspectives of mentors and myself; each shot gets optimized. We focus on distilling your work to its essence, trimming excess to enhance its impact. This rigorous review process ensures that when your reel reaches studios, it appears flawless, free of common junior-level errors. Moreover, it equips you with the ability to articulate the nuances of your work clearly. 💬#AlphaChromatica #ACE #Education #Chroma #DemoReels

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 When people see my work, they often ask me why I draw this or that. Nowadays, it happens less often, maybe they’ve gotten used to it. But when I was a child, it happened a lot. I guess people get a little concerned when they see a kid drawing one monster dismembering another. Even so, my answer was always the same: "Because I like it." I didn’t look for any deeper logic; I just liked it. I should also mention that, many times, I just wanted to be left alone to create, and a short answer often made them walk away. There was a time during my childhood when I spent hours drawing with a friend. We drew all sorts of things, especially creatures. Often, other kids would come looking for us to play, but we preferred to keep our butts cold on the floor while we had fun making our minds and pencils spark with creativity. But one day was different. Something changed. I don’t know if it happened overnight or gradually, but something shifted. We both sat down to draw, fully focused on creating. I’ll say it again: I don’t know if it was a gradual process, but I noticed it that day. That’s when he suddenly asked me: "Why do you draw that?" Those words echoed inside me, stopping me in my tracks, and for a moment, I thought about it. Then I answered: "I don’t know." Those drawings weren’t monsters; they were characters that stood out because they were always crying. Back then, I didn’t understand it. Luckily, I do now. But what I want to tell you is this: Draw. Whatever your drawings are, just draw. There doesn’t have to be a reason, only emotion. After this, go and watch my new video. You will enjoy it. 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 𝗢𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗕𝗘:

Part I of the scene breakdown of the animated video I worked on in collaboration with extra cheese for Critical TechWorks. In the opening scene, we are introduced to the main character, an enigmatic figure embodying the essence of a Designer. Driven by curiosity, they peek inside a screen and are profoundly amazed by the discoveries within. This initial wonder sparks their journey into the inner workings of the creative process at CTW. As the scene unfolds, the character's mental landscape takes center stage, depicted through their transformation into a perfect circle. This symbolizes the boundless flow of their mind, unrestricted by physical constraints. The circle then drifts away, off to explore new possibilities and what lies ahead in their creative journey. In life it is all about perspective, it is all about how you view problems in life, this is a core principle of design thinking. For instance, instead of asking "Why is the elevator so slow?" you may reframe the problem as, "How to make waiting less annoying?" The new framing opens up more possibilities, such as putting mirrors in the lift, playing music, installing wall displays and transparent lifts, among others. In life, success is all about the way you view problems. #designthinking #enterpernership

Just finished the course “Learning Art Direction” by Bonnie Siegler! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/gPpbhDfW #artdirection. One of the key takeaways is knowing that it is vital to have clarity of vision with a flexible process. Another one is to make it a habit to always think of how to make your work better.
