https://lnkd.in/gaaFiUpR Article title: Extreme Stent Malapposition after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Bifurcation Lesions: An Optical Coherence Tomography Author(s): Hesham Refaat* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Background: Anecdotal cases of bifurcation lesion stenting indicated that a wrong kissing Balloon Inflation (KBI) technique can lead to extreme stent malapposition with even stent crushing. The aim of this study was to quantify the occurrence of this finding, despite achieving acceptable angiographic results. Methods: A total of 229 bifurcation lesions were included in this study. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) was obtained immediately after KBI. The stented bifurcation lesions were classified into 2 groups: group 1 with extreme malapposition (malapposition distance ≥ 1mm and in-stent minimal Cross Sectional Area (CSA) <70% of the distal reference CSA), and group 2 (malapposition distance <1mm and/or in-stent CSA >70% of the distal reference CSA). #OpticalCoherenceTomography #BifurcationLesion #ExtremeMalapposition #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gKG-T88a Article title: Numerical Analysis of Arterial Plaque Thickness and its Impact on Artery Wall Compliance Author(s): LJ Vallez; B Sun; BD Plourde; JP Abraham*; CS Staniloae Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: A numerical analysis was completed on the influence of plaque on the compliance of an artery wall. The analysis allowed a systematic variation of the transluminal pressure difference and plaque thickness. Included in the analysis was a sheath of surrounding tissue that provides support during the cyclical deformation. The analysis incorporated progressively thicker layers of plaque to quantify their impact on the artery compliance. It was found that the presence of plaque plays a significant role in reducing the compliance. It is also shown that modest reductions in plaque thickness can result in large changes in the compliance and a positive health outcome. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gYaXtqWr Article title: Early failure of prosthetic valve presenting with acute heart failure Author(s): P Candela; L Ajello; MCE Valerio; P Camarda; V Mineo; EV Castelluccio; E Rebulla Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Background: Early failure of cardiac biological prostheses refers to the deterioration or malfunction of the valve sooner than expected. These prostheses are designed to last for many years, even decades, but in some cases, they may fail within a much shorter timeframe. Early failure can manifest in various ways, including structural issues, valve stenosis, regurgitation, and reduced functionality. Understanding the causes of early failure is crucial for improving patient outcomes. #AcuteHeartFailure #MitralValve #BioprostheticFlail #TransesophagealEcho #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gG6frUiE Article title: The Buddy Ballooning Technique- A simple debulking technique Author(s): Vincent Dangoisse* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: The author describes a simple and inexpensive way to deliver high pressures within an atherosclerotic coronary artery and reports two cases. The technique used two non-compliant (NC) balloons placed in parallel and inflated together within the same coronary segment. The cases illustrate two possible indications for the technique: lesion resistant to one adequately sized NC balloon or not fully expanded coronary stents after high-pressure non-compliant ballooning. #PercutaneousCoronaryAngioplasty #Debulking #PlaqueRupture #NCBalloon #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gJuhfk_5 Article title: Endovascular Recanalization and Angioplasty of a Lengthy, 25 Years Old Superficial Femoral Artery Occlusion Author(s): Florian Lüders*; Alfred Doku; Nasser Malyar; Holger Reinecke Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Introduction: Often physicians and patients believe that occluded vessels could not be recanalized because an occlusive lesion is too long or exists over a very long period. We report a successful recanalization of a lengthy, quarter-century old superficial femoral artery occlusion through a percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. Report: We present the recanalization and angioplasty of the superficial femoral artery in a patient with a 37 cm long and 25 years old superficial femoral artery occlusion with limb ischemia, and who was considered as a high surgical risk. #PeripheralVascularDisease #Recanalization #ChronicSuperficialFemoralArteryOcclusion #Stent #Angioplasty #CriticalLimbIschemia #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects
