"Effects of Bumper Integration on Low-, Mid-, and High-Resolution Imaging Radars" - an important topic in the automotive community, which i had the pleasure of presenting and discussing at EuCAP in Glasgow last month. Of particular interest in the antenna community was our broadband microstrip patch antenna, which is designed to operate in the entire 79 GHz frequency band for automotive radar, as originally presented in our open access journal publication on my 1728 channel high-resolution 4D imaging radar. Adding #LGSx support into #n4ce has enabled access to the high resolution Smart Fusion images that are also recorded with the Leica #TRK #MobileMapping system. In this brief demo I quickly navigate about a sample dataset kindly shared with us by Antonio Mendes. I took about 20 minutes to extract some of the features and model the lowest points to derive an approximate DTM. As you can see everything lines up, and n4ce will automatically swap the Smart Fusion images into view when the camera is looking in the correct direction to see one.

Our recent paper on THz imaging is featured in the July issue of the IEEE Transaction on Terahertz Science and Technology! The paper discusses using active THz imaging systems to see around obstacles (non-line-of-sight). Besides applications in radar imaging, this approach could be used in future wireless communication systems to enable NLoS localization services and improve channel estimation by mapping the surroundings.
