How I persuaded a CEO of a phone company to keep his clothes on! Let me set the scene ... It was almost three decades ago and I was instructing on an event for a well known phone company. The group were split into teams and were aiming to earn as much 'fun money' as possible to win the competition. The prizes were token prizes but I guess when you are the CEO of one of the fastest growing companies (at the time), it is the winning that counts! His group came to my activity last and they had realised that some instructors were giving out extra fun money to groups who went above and beyond. So ... he offered to do a strip tease while his team sang backing vocals 🤣 I declined and offered him some fun money to NOT to do that. I am sure there is a long debate about appropriate corporate behaviour and the fact that I was female and so on ... However, the point of me recounting this is show how competitive some people are regardless of the task you put in front of them. If you want to get your team thinking about collaboration rather than competition, choose your team activities wisely. (of course we can offer advice Potting Shed Events if you need a helping hand).

Creating connections with someone new is easy for me; meeting people has always been fun. I've said that attending a convention was work, but if I made an effort, it was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. When I look at these pictures, I see that joy is true in my smile.
