We are delighted to announce that the pilot project we developed for Loreburn Housing Association has been certified to AECB Retrofit standards! The project includes a semi-detached house and a bungalow located in Beattock. Our deep retrofit strategies focused on external works to minimise the disruption for tenants and enable a scalable approach. These measures will significantly reduce fuel poverty risks, energy bills, CO2e and improve comfort and health conditions for the tenants. Delighted to be able to issue certificates today to confirm that these two pilot retrofit projects for Loreburn Housing Association have achieved AECB Carbonlite Retrofit standard. The projects are timber frame; the innovative approach removed original masonry outer cladding and replaced it with airtightness and EWI measures fitted directly to the structural timber frame. Working primarily from the outside minimised internal disturbance. New triple glazed windows were fitted in the plane of the insulation. Roof insulation was upgraded and MVHR was fitted to provide excellent air quality. The properties and installation are being monitored to inform future retrofit and to confirm performance.
