A Message from the Networks Leadership Chairperson, Brian Krumsee Dear FPSA Members, I'm honored to step into the FPSA Networks' Chair role, aiming to infuse fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership into our community. I'm excitedly anticipating a new era unfolding for our Networks and FPSA. Exciting shifts are underway in our FPSA Networks, promising a more cohesive future for our association and its members. These changes, discussed during our recent Networks Leadership Team Meetings, set the stage for a streamlined path forward. In June, a pivotal decision reshaped our Networks. Effective June 1, 2023, FPSA membership became a prerequisite for Network membership, reinforcing deeper integration within our community. While emphasizing this integration, we acknowledge the importance of external expertise, allowing exceptions when specialized advice is needed. The Design-Build Network's kick-off breakfast during Process Expo showcased a promising start in the food-focused industry. Enthusiastic participation and discussions on mission statements, goals, and leadership set the stage for remarkable progress. Their recent election of new leadership during the November 30th conference call set the tone for their upcoming bi-monthly calls starting in January 2024. Throughout this transformative year, collaboration between FPSA Networks and Councils has undergone a significant overhaul. Council Vice Chairs now present network reports and "Asks" during Council Conference calls, fostering seamless integration and idea exchange. Inviting all Vice Chairs to join the Networks Leadership Team's monthly conference calls ensures a fusion of ideas and strategies for mutual growth. Concurrently, each FPSA Network has redefined their mission statement, aligning aspirations with the evolving landscape of our food-focused industry. This wave of change marks a pivotal moment, shaping an era defined by collaboration, innovation, and shared success. Let's embrace these transformations, charting a brighter, interconnected future for FPSA and its Networks. Yesterday afternoon's National Small Business Association Leadership Council meeting was an enriching experience, bringing together almost 200 thought leaders and change agents dedicated to making a significant impact in their communities. The collaborative energy and shared commitment to progress were truly palpable. A special thank you to Ian Elsenbach NSBA, for his exceptional role in supporting and facilitating this impactful call. Your efforts in orchestrating these discussions are invaluable. I also extend my gratitude to Todd McCracken, whose contributions in covering the year in review and the Region 1 breakout networking room were nothing short of enlightening. Todd, your insight into the primary focus of the organization added a valuable dimension to our discussions. Kudos to Judy Heal of Heal Accounting for her expertise and guidance on ERC processing and the ethics of third-party filing accountability. Your experience in this area was a guiding light for many. A big shout-out to Alex Kachou from Ventum Biotech for sharing your focus on environmental health and the innovative practices and products your team is bringing to the industry. Your work is inspiring and crucial in today’s world. I would like to acknowledge Rachel Horman from HC Consulting and Renée Rainey, MBA, BSN, RN, RRT from RN on Break and The Maayan Experience for highlighting the representation needs and intricacies that private health professionals face. Your perspectives were deeply informative. It’s exciting to witness NSBA’s growth into a regional networking model. As a company serving clients across the United States, I am eager to network and collaborate with incredible individuals from all regions. While there were so many inspiring participants that it would require a short novel to mention everyone, I felt it best to highlight a few.
