And, on average, a donor will have a 9+ year giving history before making a major gift. Suffice to say that organizations should strive for a strategic balance of major and everyday donors." I talk to fundraising organizations all over the country every day, and it's clear that we as an industry understand how important everyday donors are. Giving Days help gain momentum and attract new donors, creative and personal stewardship are applied and executed, but annual retention rates consistently struggle. Implementing multi-year commitments at annual and leadership levels can ensure higher retention rates, provide more cultivation and stewardship opportunities, and train donors for major gifts. #multiyearcommitments #retention #annualdonors #fundraising
